Decentraland plot by uploading interactive avatars of real rescue dogs.

Visitors who encounter these rescue doggos in Decentraland can chat with them
and adopt them in real life. Visitors can also support rescue dogs by donating.

WHY DID PEDIGREE® CREATE THE FOSTERVERSE™?

We created the FOSTERVERSE™ to give real rescue dogs a new place to be fostered
and ultimately adopted. Anyone can foster, meet, or adopt rescue dogs where they
never could before. By bringing dog fostering to the Metaverse, we hope to
increase adoptions and donations to help save countless rescue dogs.


WHY ARE WE PARTNERING WITH ADOPT A PET™?

Adopt a Pet™ – a Mars entity and part of Kinship – helps over 21,000 animal
shelters, humane societies, SPCAs, pet rescue groups, and pet adoption agencies
advertise their homeless pets to millions of adopters each month, free of cost.
With its massive network, Adopt a Pet™ enables people in different regions to
adopt dogs from outside of their local areas. The PEDIGREE® brand is partnering
with Adopt a Pet™ to help dog lovers to foster and adopt real rescue dogs in the
Metaverse.


HOW DOES PEDIGREE® MATCH MY DONATION?

About PEDIGREE® Foundation
We believe every dog deserves a loving, forever home. PEDIGREE® Foundation is an
independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to help end pet
homelessness. Nearly 3.1 million dogs end up in shelters and rescues every year,
and nearly half never find a home. The foundation was established in 2008 by
Mars Petcare, maker of PEDIGREE® food for dogs, to help increase dog adoption
rates. We’ve awarded more than 6,100 grants and $11.6 million to U.S. shelters

WHAT IS THE FOSTERVERSE™?

Not every dog lover can foster a dog in their real-world home. But anyone who
wants to save dogs can foster a rescue dog on Decentraland property they own in
the Metaverse. To develop the FOSTERVERSE™, we created interactive avatars
modeled after real rescue dogs up for adoption. These dogs will be fostered by
Decentraland landowners who host the dogs’ avatars on their property - where
anyone visiting Decentraland can meet, interact with, and adopt them.


HOW DOES THE FOSTERVERSE™ WORK?

Decentraland landowners can join the FOSTERVERSE™ by selecting any rescue dog
available on Adopt a Pet™ and downloading that dog’s free interactive avatar on
Fosterverse.com.
Once a landowner downloads their foster dog’s interactive avatar and places it
on their Decentraland property, any Decentraland visitor who comes across the
dog can meet, chat with, and adopt the real rescue dog the avatar represents.
Every landowner who fosters a dog will earn a special wearable to show off that
they helped save a rescue dog. The wearable is a collectible NFT created
specifically for FOSTERVERSE™ participants.

HOW CAN I FOSTER A DOG THROUGH THE FOSTERVERSE™?

On the FOSTERVERSE™ website, landowners can participate by selecting any real
rescue dog (served by the Adopt a Pet™ API) and downloading the dog’s unique
interactive avatar from the site.
Once a landowner downloads their dog’s interactive avatar and places it on their
Decentraland property, anyone who comes across the dog in Decentraland can meet,
chat with, and adopt the real rescue dog the avatar represents.
Every landowner who fosters a dog will earn a unique wearable to show off that
they helped save a rescue dog.


DO I HAVE TO OWN DECENTRALAND PROPERTY TO HELP A DOG IN THE FOSTERVERSE™?

Nope! Anyone who meets a foster dog in Decentraland can chat with the dog to
learn its real rescue dog’s age, gender, personality, and more. Each dog
avatar’s chat bot functionality will be tailored to the specific rescue dog it
represents. By interacting with the dog, Decentraland visitors can adopt the dog
from Adopt a Pet™.
Alternatively, visitors can help save a rescue dog by donating directly through
the bot using their connected wallets. In return, the user will earn a unique
wearable for their support.


HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MY FOSTER DOG’S INTERACTIVE AVATAR?

Download the unique interactive avatar for the dog you wish to foster or to
adopt on Fosterverse.com.


HOW DO I UPLOAD MY FOSTER DOG TO DECENTRALAND?

After you download your interactive avatar’s assets, you can deploy the virtual
dog to your Decentraland plot via Fosterverse.com.


HOW MANY DOGS CAN I FOSTER?

You can foster as many dogs as you want!


IS THE DOG I’M FOSTERING IN DECENTRALAND A REAL-LIFE DOG?

Yes, all dogs fostered through the FOSTERVERSE™ are real-life rescue dogs up for
adoption that can be found on Adopt a Pet™.


HOW LONG WILL I FOSTER A DOG IN DECENTRALAND?

You can foster a dog through March 24, 2023.


HOW DO I WIN A WEARABLE IN DECENTRALAND?

There are two ways to win a PEDIGREE® wearable in Decentraland. The first is to
complete the Quest at the PEDIGREE® FOSTERVERSE™ Hub. Quest instructions can be
found at the Hub, and wearables will be released to the first 10,000 people who
complete the Quest. And even more exclusive wearables will be unlocked if you
are one of the first 100 people to foster a dog on your Decentraland property
(only if you're a Decentraland landowner). The first ten people who foster will
receive a deluxe edition.


HOW DO I UPLOAD MY FOSTER DOG TO DECENTRALAND?

After you download your interactive avatar’s assets, you can deploy the virtual
dog to your Decentraland plot via Fosterverse.com. Please see instructions on

REAL LIFE OPPORTUNITIES & ADOPTIONS


HOW DOES THE FOSTERVERSE™ HELP REAL-LIFE RESCUE DOGS?

The FOSTERVERSE™ helps more dogs be adopted by allowing people who cannot
otherwise foster dogs in the real world to foster them in the Metaverse.
Additionally, dogs fostered in the Metaverse will meet potential adopters that
they otherwise may not have met. We’ll also help save more rescue dogs by
generating donations and by the PEDIGREE® Brand's matching of donations through
interactions with dogs in Decentraland.


HOW CAN I HELP RESCUE DOGS IN REAL LIFE?

You can support rescue dogs that are shown in the Metaverse by donating to
PedigreeFosterverse.com, which directly supports rescue dogs in real life. For
example, supporters can donate to PEDIGREE Foundation® directly through
PedigreeFosterverse.com, or via the chatbot in the FOSTERVERSE™ while
interacting with a virtual dog.

All donations will support PEDIGREE Foundation® through its annual grant program
which awards shelters and rescues with grants to fund foster and other
adoption-focused programs such as transport, behavior and matching.

You can also help dogs in need by volunteering at an animal shelter or rescue
organization in your community.


HOW CAN I FOSTER A DOG IN REAL LIFE?

All virtual dogs in FOSTERVERSE™ have a real-life counterpart available on Adopt
a Pet™ in need of a loving home. Check out the Adopt a Pet™ website to find a
dog in your own community and learn more about how you can foster or adopt.


DONATIONS


WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?

All donations will support PEDIGREE Foundation® annual grant program,
specifically helping to fund foster programming grants for shelters and rescues
across the country.


HOW CAN I DONATE?

Supporters can donate to PEDIGREE Foundation® directly through
PedigreeFosterverse.com, or via the chatbot in the FOSTERVERSE™ while
interacting with a virtual dog. All donations support PEDIGREE Foundation®
through its annual grant program, which awards shelters and rescues with grants
to fund foster and adoption-focused programs.


HOW CAN I DONATE TO HELP SAVE DOGS IN DECENTRALAND?

If you meet a foster dog in Decentraland, you can interact with the dog and
learn about the real rescue dog they represent. You can also donate through the
virtual dog’s chat bot feature to help save more rescue dogs.
