METS HIRE LONGTIME BREWERS EXECUTIVE

The New York Mets ' new look front office is starting to come together.

According to Will Sammon of The Athletic , president of baseball operations
David Stearns has hired Eduardo Brizuela as a vice president/special assistant.

Brizuela worked with Stearns and spent more than 15 years with the Milwaukee
Brewers. He was a vice president in Milwaukee and has significant international,
minor league operations and player acquisition experience.



As MLB insider Jon Morosi reported, Brizuela will have an impact on the roster,
scouting and player development.

With the arrival of Stearns and departure of general manager Billy Eppler, the
expectation is that the Mets' front office will feature several new faces next
season.

Mets owner Steve Cohen said last month at a press conference that the team's
plan is to add as much talent to the front office as possible.

The Mets initially intended to keep Eppler, but he is being investigated for
misusing the injured list, which led to his resignation.

Stearns told reporters at GM meetings on Tuesday that the Mets will not hire a
GM to replace Eppler this offseason.
