The offering includes “robust” airfreight capacity, security solutions and is based on the new “SemiconChain” quality standard. The forwarder said that the service includes time-defined services, appropriate handling controls, airside services, prioritised flights and risk mitigation tools and full visibility. The SemiconChain standard has been developed for the Semicon industry and integrates ISO 9001-2015 and IATF 16949 standards, ensuring that shipments are “always transported in a standardised, robust manner providing complete tracking visibility”. K+N’s SemiconChain locations are staffed with industry experts that regularly undergo a comprehensive and continuous training programme. “The new air logistics service aims to support customers with improved visibility, security, reduced risks and automated processes,” the forwarder said. Barry O`Dowd, global head of high-tech at Kuehne+Nagel, commented: “The expanding global digital ecosystem continues to drive strong semiconductor growth over the long term. “However, in case of disruptions and unstable supply chains, many key industries can be severely affected. Our new service will help customers navigate the semiconductor market’s volatility and nuances, ensuring an uninterrupted supply chain. “The key differentiator of the new offering is the SemiconChain quality standard that provides the utmost reliability and security to our customers. “I am pleased that the initial feedback out of validation sessions with leading semicon industry stakeholders is very positive.” > Kuehne+Nagel takes delivery of dedicated B747 freighter > Kuehne+Nagel to operate new airside pharma facility at OR Tambo Airport Share this story RELATED TOPICS * Kuehne+Nagel LATEST SUPPLY CHAINS NEWS MY FREIGHTER STARTS INTERLINE PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICAN AIRLINES By Rebecca Jeffrey 16 / 08 / 2024 Uzbekistan-based My Freighter and American Airlines have begun an interline partnership that will allow both carriers access to each other’s… Read More Share this story BANGLADESH AIR CARGO LOGJAMS EASE BUT DELAYS STILL EXPECTED By Damian Brett 14 / 08 / 2024 The Bangladesh air cargo market continues to report delays to shipments following weeks of protests but the situation is beginning… Read More Share this story TELEPORT AND ETIHAD PARTNERSHIP TAKES OFF By Rebecca Jeffrey 13 / 08 / 2024 Teleport and Etihad Cargo’s capacity partnership is gathering pace with plans to add frequency on their cargo network between southeast… Read More Share this story PREVIOUS NEWS STORY Atlas Air flight makes emergency landing at Narita Airport NEXT NEWS STORY New booking portal Octoloop welcomes Qatar Cargo for India REBECCA JEFFREY New to aviation journalism, I joined Air Cargo News in late 2021 as deputy editor.
