It's easy to search and track, and nothing ever gets lost.

What is "project location"?

The project location is chosen by the project owner, and identifies where the
project's being worked on.
You need to choose your project location to log into Aconex. If you're not sure,
ask a colleague.

What is the Tasks page?
WHAT IS THE TASKS PAGE?

The Tasks page is like your Aconex home page. It lists the tasks that you need
to action, which projects you are on and provides shortcuts to some common
actions.
A task is an item that requires action or attention from you.

Why can't I just use email?
WHY CAN'T I JUST USE EMAIL?

Your company email doesn't leave an audit trail. Aconex does.
Every piece of communication you exchange in Aconex is given a unique tracking
number for easy reference during the project, and afterwards.

Why can I see other people's email?
WHY CAN I SEE OTHER PEOPLE'S MAIL?

In most cases, you have access to all mail sent to anyone in your organization.
You also have access to all of the mail sent by everyone in your organization.
You can filter mail so that you only see mail sent or cc-ed to you.

Can't I just mail documents to people?
CAN'T I JUST MAIL DOCUMENTS TO PEOPLE?

You can attach documents to mail, but if the document will be revised, and lots
of people need to access it, the best way to share it is to send it via a
transmittal.

Whose mail can I see?
WHOSE MAIL CAN I SEE?

You can search – and see – all the project mail that's been sent and received by
your company.
So the mail you send is visible to everyone in your organization, and all the
organizations you send it to.

What is the Document Register?

The Document Register is a repository for all current and previous revisions of
documents received or uploaded on a project.

To share documents outside your company, you need to send them to other
organizations using Aconex.

What are search "filters"?
WHAT ARE SEARCH "FILTERS"?

The filters at the top of the search page help to narrow your search for
documents with certain tags.
Your colleagues add these tags when they upload the documents, to make them
easier to find later.
