ALABAMA CROSSING

DATE: JUNE 20, 2020- FATHER’S DAY SATURDAY

Registration link: Opens March 1, 2020

Do you love Cycling?
Would you like to help eliminate substandard housing in Alabama?
Do you want to help children break generational cycles of poverty?

Then come cycle with a purpose!

What is Cycle of Service?  Cycle of Service is a main fundraising event for
Alabama Rural Ministry. It is a 100 mile(century) bike ride in the Lee and Macon
County area that helps families with low incomes receive vital repairs and works
to end substandard housing in rural Alabama. The funds gained from cyclists’
sponsors provide home repair assistance to families in Lee, Macon, and Sumter
counties making homes warm, safe, and dry through mission volunteers. It also
helps ARM host children’s summer camps with a goal to help kids break cycles of
generational poverty. (More information about ARM’s mission and vision can be
found at www.arm-al.org).

For you spin and stationary bike enthusiasts, you can log miles through a spin
class or in your neighborhood if you cannot ride with us.

What does it cost me?

100 mile- Registration is $100.

40, 60 mile loop options: $65

10, 20 mile loop options: $35

All route options include a t-shirt, water bottle, and lunch. Logistics for the
start and end are found in the rider details.

Local riding/stationary and spin bikes: Registration is $35 We recognize not
everyone can ride across Alabama but would still like to help. Riders will log
and record miles from May 20-June 20th  in your neighborhood, spin class, or
stationary bike. Your registration includes a t-shirt and water bottle.

Sponsorships? How does that work? We have an easy, painless (you’ll get that
while riding) way to get sponsors and this is outlined in the fundraising FAQ’s.
By using a peer-to-peer platform, you will be able to track your sponsors and
see how much you are raising. You can also use Facebook to keep your contacts
updated. We have an event on Facebook set up that you can copy and paste onto
your page. Upon registering you’ll receive more detailed information or you can
review all of it in the registration information page. We are asking each rider
cycling all three days and fundraising to set a a $1200 fundraising goal or
$400/day. Virtual riders are asked to set a minimum goal of $500.

Sign me up! Registration is open. You can click here to register online for all
the various options and see the Registration page. You’ll receive more
instructions to help you prepare once registered. (Registration opens March 1,
2020)
