California Coastal Rose Society (CCRS) presents the 24th Annual Auction of Rare
and Unusual Roses on Saturday, April 13, 2024 and Sunday, April 14, 2024, in the
Banquet Room at the El Corazon Oceanside Senior Center, 3306 Senior Center
Drive, Oceanside, CA 92054.



To view the rare and unusual roses in both the Silent and Live Auctions, go to
the above navigation bar. Each rose is linked to HelpMeFind.com, where one can
find pictures and detailed information about the rose.



ONLINE AUCTION

Online bidding for the Silent and Live Auctions opens Saturday, March 1 and
closes Friday, April 12 at noon


SILENT AUCTION

Roses for the Silent Auction will be on display Saturday, April 13 at noon until
the Silent Auction closes at noon on Sunday, April 14. Participants will each be
given a bidder number and a list of the varieties in both the Silent and Live
Auctions. There will be CCRS Rosarians available to answer any questions.


LIVE AUCTION

Begins promptly at 1:30 pm on Sunday, April 14 and ends at 3:00 pm. The roses
will be on display from noon on Saturday until 4 pm and from 9 am to noon on
Sunday, April 14.

No roses will be released or picked up until the end of the Live Auction at 3:00
pm.

Doors open at noon and close at 5 pm

Silent Auction Begins

Presentation Program: The Presentation Program begins at 1:00 pm on Saturday. We
are honored to have the following distinguished guest speakers who EACH have the
distinction of curating separate, extraordinary, large world-renowned
collections of rare and unusual roses in California.

1:00: Jill Perry, Curator of the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden, will start the
program with "Roses of Belgium";

2:00: Anita Clevenger, Former Curator of the Sacramento City Cemetery Historic
Rose Garden and Master Gardener will talk about "Anne Bevolich's Collection of
Rambler Roses";

3:00: Gregg Lowery, world renowned rosarian and Curator, Historic Rose
Collection, Friends of Vintage Roses, Sebastopol, CA. The preservation of
historic rose cultivars and wild roses is his principal interest, passion and
cause. He will speak about the "Great Gardens of Germany".

Speakers and Friends Dinner

5:30 pm: Green Dragon Tavern, 6115 Paseo del Norte, Carlsbad. It is conveniently
located a few blocks east of the 5 freeway at the Palomar Airport Road exit.
Separate checks will be available and dining is limited to 24 people on a first

SUNDAY APRIL 14

Doors open at 9 am and close at 4 pm

Silent Auction continues and closes at noon

Lunch Break

Live Auction begins at 1:30 pm and ends at 3:00 pm

Lunch on Sunday is available at the various restaurants in the nearby Ocean
Ranch Plaza, 3605 Ocean Ranch Blvd, Oceanside.

Auction Venue

The auction will be held in the Banquet Room at the El Corazon Oceanside Senior
Center, 3306 Senior Center Drive, Oceanside, CA, 92054 The Event Center is
attached to the William A Wagner Aquatic Center and the El Corazon Senior
Center.

A whole new metropolis has sprung up around the Senior Center since last year's
Auction. It is surrounded by new housing and lots of new construction. For now,
Senior Center Drive is CLOSED for improvements.

Detour Directions

 * From I-5 north, turn right onto Oceanside Blvd.
 * Take Oceanside Boulevard east to Rancho Del Oro Road.
 * At the stop light, turn left on to Rancho Del Oro Road.
 * At the first stoplight, turn left onto Dr. Hugh La Bounty Drive (formerly El
   Corazon Dr)
 * The road turns left and becomes Village Commercial Drive. Follow it all the
   way down the hill to the stop sign and turn right.
 * Turn left into the main parking lot & then turn immediately to the right for
   the parking lot in front of the Event & Aquatic Center
 * The Event Center is the first room adjacent to the Aquatic Center.
 * There is additional parking in the main lot in front of the Senior Center.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

Hotel accommodations are available at the nearby Courtyard Marriott Oceanside,
3501 Seagate Way, Oceanside, CA, 92056.

The group discount for a king size bed is $189 + taxes/fees per night and a room
with 2 queen size beds is $ 219 + taxes/fees. Check-in is Friday, April 12 at
3:00 pm & check-out is Sunday, April,14 at noon. The cut off date to take
advantage of the group rate is March 12.

Stays may be extended on either side of the weekend at the same group rate if
rooms are available. If not, they may be a little higher for the extra nights.
