MASTERING CCUS IMPLEMENTATION

In the fight against climate change, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage
(CCUS) stands out as a key technological solution for reducing CO2 emissions,
especially in hard-to-decarbonize industries (e.g. steel, chemicals and cement).

    

However, CCUS faces challenges, including high costs and significant energy
demands for capturing CO2. There is also a need for comprehensive regulatory
frameworks to ensure safe and efficient CO2 storage. Despite these challenges,
the potential for CCUS is significant, particularly as technological
advancements continue to improve its efficiency and feasibility. The development
of new markets for CO2 utilization could further incentivize its adoption.



In this webinar, we will focus on the practical aspects of CCUS and examine
real-world applications and the lessons learned from implementing large-scale
CCUS projects. Our expert speaker will share experiences and insights, providing

Mike Monea, a Saskatchewan geology expert, revolutionized Carbon Capture and
Storage (CCS) as SaskPower's leader, creating the world's first coal unit carbon
capture plant. With professional engineering and geoscience credentials, he's
also excelled in oil and gas, enhancing CO2 utilization. Globally recognized,
Mike received the prestigious "Greenman Award" for his CCS contributions and
continues to advance sustainable energy solutions worldwide.

CHRISTIAN SALLES

Technical Director, Natural Resources & Energy, PreScouter

As a Technical Director at PreScouter, Christian specializes in the Natural
Resources and Energy sector, aligning client solutions with sustainability,
