Christy Sullivan and her best friend Alix had dreamed of going to Lapland for
Christmas since they were young girls. Finally this year Christy’s dream has
come true. She is going to Swedish Lapland with Alix and two more really
important members of her family; her husband Seb and her very excited
six-year-old daughter Holly. They are going to stay in Lodges in a resort that
is owned by her Aunt Robyn and her husband Erik. Amongst their planned
activities are seeing the Northern lights, taking a ride driven by a team of
huskies and at last meeting Robyn whom she has never met, but who is her
Mother’s sister. The days can’t pass quickly enough for her. It is her dream
come true and Alix will be with her family.Alix was also looking forward to her
Christmas holiday. She is as yet unmarried and is totally dedicated to her work,
but the tingle of excitement crawls down her neck as she starts to get ready to
travel. When the phone rang she saw it was Christy so her excitement doubled,
but not for long, because Christie and Seb are no longer able to fly to Sweden
as planned. Christy has called to ask a huge favour of Alix, she wants her to
take Holly on ahead. She tells her that they would definitely be there for
Christmas. Alix adores Holly and understands what a difficult decision it must
have been for Holly’s parents to miss this early part of their holiday. She
agrees to Christy’s plans with a tinge of alarm. She reasons something very
important must have happened to delay Holly’s parents from their family holiday.
Then she starts to worry in case anything goes wrong with Holly when she is in
charge of her. She need not have worried on that account though because she soon
finds out that Seb’s best friend Zac is also going to be travelling there with
her to help out. She certainly isn’t happy about that, not one bit! She and Zac
simple do not get on. Whatever are Christy and Seb thinking?However she tries
hard to make the most of the time she has with Holly who is so excited about the
deep snow and the sled dogs. Zac is kind to her and helpful. Perhaps it is not
such a bad idea after all. But when Kristy and Seb arrive at the resort two day
later she senses that everything is far from alright and she is very worried
about her good friends. As time goes by friendships are under scrutiny and Alix
feels left out. She wants to know what is going on because she feels she can
surely help make it right just like she always does.I always love Sarah Morgan’s
romantic and festive novels and this one is no exception. She writes beautiful
stories filled with compassion and empathy. Her speciality is in sorting out
problems and delivering solutions. Her storyboards are exceptional and filled
with brilliantly crafted and diverse characters and adding plenty of action and
excitement. Her settings are always idyllic and appealing. Sarah’s favoured
genre is romances where problems are sorted out and the endings of her novels
are joyful and endearing. It was a lovely, rewarding read.I received a

for an honest review. I really enjoyed this novel and award it a well-deserved
4.5* I recommend it as a very good read for the festive season; a novel that

I read my first Sarah Morgan book, A Wedding In December, this time last year
and loved it, so I was really excited to read her latest this festive season.
And yet again, The Christmas Escape made me laugh out loud, feel full of warmth,
and be overcome with the enchantment of the stunning wintery setting.
Although there are some similarities to A Wedding In December with the snowy
location and confrontational relationship that will obviously develop into
something more, I completely pictured two different settings and sets of
characters, so Morgan does a fantastic job of using these typical rom-com tropes
in an original and exciting way.
The Lapland setting is truly magical and I’m now craving a family holiday
somewhere nostalgic. I also really enjoyed the company as Morgan always writes
her characters so well. With obstacles to overcome in all kinds of relationships
– between families, marriages, friends, and couples – I loved getting to see the
flaws in each of these characters and the ways in which they worked to learn
from their mistakes and do better.
For me, Sarah Morgan really knows how to write the perfect Christmas book. The
Christmas Escape may be a light-hearted read set around reindeers, sledging, and
Christmas tree decorating, but her characters and relationships still pack an
emotional punch and I always put her books down wanting more!

A lovely Christmassy feel good read.
Christy and Seb are planning a trip to Lapland to see her Aunt who she hasn’t
seen since she was a child.
Seb has lost his job and when Christy finds out, she’s disappointed that he
hasn’t confided in her.
Alix is Christy’s best friend and she is also going on the trip to Lapland and
their friend Zac is also going along.
There’s clearly history between the two of them and when Christy asks them to
take their daughter to Lapland a few days earlier on their own so her and Seb
can have some time together, Christy is apprehensive.
Lapland works it’s magic on family and friendships and there’s also a sprinkling
of love.
A great feel good read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. My first of author Sarah Morgan's (I
think?). It was pure Christmas escapism to a bucket list country I would like to
visit with my family and grandchildren - but without the modern commercialised
trappings.
The story itself had me laughing and in places brought tears to my eyes with the
characters emotional struggle's both with their own lives and personal
relationship's and that awful emotion, suspicion.
But throughout there was a sense of strength, faith, hope and joy. The love and
sheer joy and of wonderedment as seen through the eyes of a child in a childs
world I thought beautifully captured.
