MASKS REQUIRED IN MARYLAND STARTING 1/12/2024

Respiratory illnesses continue to increase across the nation, resulting in
rising hospitalizations. Effective 1/12/2024, mandatory masking will resume for
patients, visitors and employees in all Johns Hopkins Medicine locations in the
state of Maryland. Masking is required regardless of vaccination status. Read

ELIZABETH HARRY WELL-BEING VISITING PROFESSOR



Join the Department of Medicine’s Grand Rounds on Jan. 19 at 8 a.m. in Hurd Hall
at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. We are pleased to announce that the Johns Hopkins
2024 well-being visiting professor is Elizabeth Harry, chief wellness officer
for Michigan Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical School. Harry, a
national expert on cognitive load, burnout and well-being, will give the talk,
Balancing Cognitive Load and Well-Being: Enhancing Human Factors for Healthcare
Workers.

MLK COMMEMORATION

Johns Hopkins’ 42nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration will take
place Friday, January 12. The commemoration will feature recognition of
recipients of the 2023 Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Award for Community Service
for their efforts to improve their communities, and the recipient of the Dr.
Levi Watkins Leadership Award.

platform will be unavailable starting January 1, 2024. The enhanced portal and
app will launch on January 16th, 2024.
