ABOUT THIS EVENT

Achieving Primary Care: Health for all by 2000 …. a distant dream. In 1977, the
World Health Assembly decided that the main social target of governments and of
WHO should be the attainment by all the people of the world by the year 2000, a
level of health that would permit them to lead a socially and economically
productive life. This meant availability of basic Primary and Secondary Care to
all. Now, 40 years later, we are far from it… more so in our Rural / Semi urban
communities. We have not been able to decentralise healthcare – move it away
from where the competency is available (Tertiary Centers and Corporate
Hospitals) to where it is needed (Primary / Secondary care clinics). Footfall
management has been one of the biggest issues – Primary and Secondary healthcare
facilities exist in some form but ill equipped & Tertiary care centers
over-crowded. On the other hand, mobile technology has revolutionized the
telecom industry. Covid has demonstrated its adaptability & deployment in
Healthcare.
