DEPARTMENT NEWS See more news Lillian Fritz-Laylin Named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator Lillian Fritz-Laylin, professor of biology, was recently named as one 26 researchers included in this year’s Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator Program. The HHMI Investigator Program, which provides each awardee with roughly $11 million over seven years—renewable indefinitely August 5, 2024 Researchers at UMass Amherst show the evolutionary persistence of a weediness trait, rewriting the story of rice as we know it University of Massachusetts Amherst researchers have discovered that the anatomical adaptation helping weedy rice varieties to proliferate is not, as previously believed, confined only to these pest varieties. The research, published recently in the Journal of Experimental Botany, shows that despite August 5, 2024 Institute of Diversity Sciences Awards 2024 Seed Grant to Babbitt and Peyton Breast cancer is a terrible affliction across the whole world.
