Featured

Last evening was a regular one during quarantine, spent biking with the boys

Featured

Hello Everyone, Let’s talk about the term “homeschooling” being misused across

How many times have you wondered or come across perplexed adults inquiring about
the fact that why Montessori focuses on teaching multiplication after addition
and not subtraction? I have been asked this question from parents, traditional
education teachers and even some montessorians who are either not yet trained or
still under training. Before I get … Continue reading Learning Math the

Do you have a six year old who is growing more mature, more independent, more
daring and adventurous?? Transitioning to the second plane of development is not
an easy time for the child and parents.
Are you familiar with the red and blue rods, strip board, house of numbers and
finger charts? Yes, these are all Montessori materials for learning math facts.
Today I’m sharing a Montessori inspired material by little bud kids that serves
the purpose of all of these Montessori materials. Yes you heard that right!!
The greatest sign of success for a teacher is to be able to say, “The children
are now working as if I did not exist” (Montessori, 1967a).
Today AMI, TEAM and MPPI hosted their inaugural education advocacy event in
Dallas, TX. The purpose of this meeting was to help Montessori community
identify pathways in Texas to have Montessori credentials recognized by state
agencies. This will be a huge step in education and I can’t wait for this
important work to be completed!
Martin Luther King Jr. became one of the most important civil rights leaders in
United States by fighting for equality for Black people.
I am humbled to be appointed to serve on @americanmontessori Regional Action
Commission and represent the state of Texas on a national level. Looking forward
to working with this amazing team to advocate Montessori education in our states
and regions, and to promote AMS membership as we help members feel more
connected to the organization.
