SHIPT COMMUNITY IMPACT & INNOVATION GRANT APPLICATION

Every year Shipt invests in organizations and nonprofits that are innovating to
advance economic mobility, address food insecurity, and support communities in
need.

Shipt’s purpose is to “spark the connections that show why every person counts”.
We focus on high-impact initiatives dedicated to meeting the many needs of our
communities. As such, we invite interested organizations across the U.S. to
apply for grants ranging from $1,000-$25,000.

For this cycle, Shipt is prioritizing applications that serve the following
markets: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Birmingham, AL; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX;
Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis, MN; New York City, NY,
and Philadelphia, PA. However, applications serving other markets will still be
considered.

2023 Grant Impact Areas

Food Security & Resilience
• Food Security: Innovative programs focused on expanding access to fresh,
healthy, culturally relevant foods, hands-on nutrition education, and
participation in government nutrition security programs to create more equitable
communities. Additionally, Shipt is interested in supporting initiatives that
reduce the logistical barriers communities experience in accessing healthy
foods.

• Resilience: Initiatives that strengthen local food systems and infrastructure
to build thriving communities, including reducing food waste, supporting
community gardening and agriculture, farmers' markets and cooperatives, food
hubs, community kitchens, and food-based incubators.

Note: Please note that we are looking for innovative solutions to food security
and resilience. We will not consider funding requests from food pantries or food
banks that do not meet our criteria.

Promoting Economic Mobility
• Workforce Development: High-impact programs that increase the representation
of African-American/Black, Indigenous, and Hispanic learners and workers in the
tech industry through exposure, training and wrap-around services.

• Small Business Support: Initiatives that help African-American/Black,
Indigenous, and Hispanic-owned small businesses grow through capacity building
and small business support services. Additionally, Shipt is interested in
supporting minority-owned small businesses in the retail/consumer packaged goods
(CPG) and tech sectors.

Shipt is committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We will prioritize groups led by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and
LGBTQ+ leaders and groups who are committed to racial, economic, and gender
equity. We also support groups that work with overlooked and under-resourced
communities, especially those that are emerging or newly formed and have limited
access to institutional funding.
