KEEP IT CLEAN

Spam trap and undeliverable emails pile up, ending up representing a sizable
chunk of your contacts. Don’t let your CRM or marketing automation system charge
you for stale emails.

BAD REPUTATION, BAD REPUTATION

If TSwift had been a marketer it would be all about bad, not big, reputations.
High bounce rates, spam traps and abusive emails kill your sender reputation and
ultimately your deliverability.  Keep your emails landing in the inbox with
clean lists.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ROI

Email Marketing on average delivers ROI in the neighbourhood of 44X (Experian).
Combine those returns with the cost savings of keeping your lists clean. You
have taken one step towards Revenue Acceleration.

HOW IT WORKS

Validating your Hubspot lists with Free Email Verifier is likely the easiest
thing you’ve ever done:

 1. Connect Hubspot (1 Click)
 2. Pick a list with up to 10,000 contacts (1 Click)
 3. Relax and wait for your results to come in (0 clicks)

Had you ever imagined saving money while increasing your email deliverability
and mail server reputation could be as easy as two clicks?

FAQS

WHAT IS EMAIL VERIFICATION?

Email verification involves checking the deliverability of the email addresses
you are collecting thanks to your lead generation initiatives. Having a lot of
emails in your database is worthless unless they’ll receive your messages.

Our free email verifier doesn’t simply check if an email looks valid. It
actually performs several checks to ensure that an email can be delivered to a
specific email address. Email verification includes checking the domain name
exists, if it has a correctly configured email server, and, finally, if the
server will accept the email address provided.

The email checker makes sure that the emails are genuine and are likely to
connect you to a real person (or, at the least, a real email account of an
organization.)

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO VALIDATE EMAILS, AND WHAT ARE THE RISKS IF I DON’T CHECK
MY EMAIL LIST?

Nobody wants to walk into a convo blind, and that’s what happens if you don’t
validate your email list regularly. Using an email checker to verify your email
list will help you across your organization:
1) Email marketing campaigns: checking if emails are valid will improve sender
reputation and deliverability and give you more accurate email marketing
benchmarks and overall lower CMS prices.
2) PPC campaigns: when creating your PPC audiences, a high number of fake or
weak emails will impact the number of people you’ll be actually targeting.
Additionally, you’ll be giving incorrect information to the advertising network
(i.e., Facebook) about what kind of users you want to reach.
3) Marketing costs: most CRMs charge per the number of emails you store, so
you’ll be wasting money on invalid emails.
4) Sales team time: your sales team would lose time reaching out to invalid
email addresses instead of focusing on the right prospects.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I SEND AN EMAIL TO A FAKE EMAIL ADDRESS?

Simply put: fake emails won’t be delivered. That’s bad as you’ll have high
bounce rates since those emails can’t reach any actual inbox.

Lower deliverability also impacts your overall performance, and email systems
such as Gmail and Outlook will start putting emails coming from you in the spam
folder by default.

WHAT ARE DISPOSABLE EMAILS?

Disposable emails are temporary emails you can create on several websites. This
service can send and receive emails for a specific time. After that period
expires, the email is no longer active.

Unfortunately, there is no way to know an email is disposable by just looking at
it. Here is where email verification comes into play and detects disposable
emails so that you can remove them from your email list.

Our team maintains a database of thousands of domain names associated with
disposable email providers to give you the best match rate possible.

WHAT ARE ROLE-BASED EMAILS?

Role-based emails (also known as generic emails) are emails that typically start
with info@, admin@, support@. Those are emails that you don’t want in your
contacts list as they are not meant for personal use but usually include a
distribution list with multiple contacts and are more likely to be dismissed.
Also, role-based emails can be used in spam traps.

WHAT IS A SPAM TRAP?

Hitting a spam trap is more common than you may think – even if you don’t do
anything wrong. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use spam traps (also called
honeypots) to lure spammers. If an email in your list ends up in a spam trap,
you may suffer consequences, from impact to your sender reputation to being
denied listing of your IP address or domain in case of Pristine spam traps.

WHAT DOES “SMTP CATCH ALL” MEAN?

SMTP catch all servers, also referred to as accept all servers, are email
servers that accept all emails for a specific domain. It means, for example,
that if you type in ifno@ instead of info@, the email will not be lost but will
be collected in a separate mailbox from where somebody can sort it correctly.

Why should you care? While this looks like a great idea, well… it isn’t. To
start with, you can’t know if an email is valid or not, only if its email server
is configured to accept all – this means that your emails may end up in that
second chance mailbox. More on that, spammers attack these mailboxes that are
usually full of spam and go over quota quite quickly.

If your emails end up in that mailbox, what you are looking at is an impact on
sender reputation, hard bounces, and overall inaccurate email marketings
results.

WHAT ARE FREE EMAILS?

Free emails are what they look like: emails you can create and use for free. Top
email providers such as Gmail, AOL, Outlook offer access to an email inbox
without charging the user.

Why should you care? While free emails are not necessarily weak or misleading,
you may want to reach corporate emails that are usually part of a paid suite. It
will depend on your business, of course, but you may want to check the number of
free emails on your list.

WHEN SHOULD I VERIFY MY EMAIL LIST?

There’s no time like the present to start checking your email list: you can bulk
verify your email list directly from this page! Depending on how extensive your
list is, you may want to schedule the cleanup regularly every few months. Our
suggestion? Always validate your email list before starting an email marketing
campaign and introduce your sales team to email verification so they can
double-check individual emails when needed.

I’VE VERIFIED MY EMAIL LIST; NOW WHAT?

Kudos, you are now looking at your email checker results! After bulk verifying
your contacts, there are a few actions you can take to ensure your email list is
clean:
– Invalid emails: you can look at suggestions to correct typos and errors. If
the email addresses check out, you can update your database with the correct
information.
– Spam traps: remove them immediately from your email list and make sure nobody
from your team contacts them.
Disposable emails: it’s really up to you. You can delete them or keep them; it’s
hard to say if someone using disposable emails is just a spammer o just someone
genuinely interested in your product who doesn’t want to receive emails from
you.
– SMTP catch all: It’s good to know that someone uses a catch-all filter, but
usually, no action needs to be taken. The risk of removing valid emails would be
too high.
– Free emails: the strategy for free emails will entirely depend on your
business. If you are looking at reaching out to enterprise or corporate clients,
free emails are something to monitor closely. If you are targeting small
businesses and solopreneurs, free emails may just be the real deal.
