Now, these people are facing much higher rates. Mortgage repayments for some borrowers have doubled or tripled, leaving them drowning in debt. WHAT WE WANT TO KNOW We are investigating how we got into this situation, who is to blame and what needs to change – and we need your help. We want to know whether improper lending practices have contributed to the current financial stress that borrowers are experiencing. We want to examine whether existing policies and regulations provide adequate protection for consumers, or whether they need to be strengthened.
