The Team

Michael Salat, Publisher

Michael founded CleanTechIQ, a provider of cleantech and sustainability news and
analysis, in 2012. Previously, he was the Head of Product Development at the
Financial Times, where he developed growth and acquisition strategies and
launched new information services in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Prior to that,
he spent 4 years on the senior management team of Money-Media, a niche B2B
provider of news, data and analysis, where he led new product development and
oversaw the company’s strategic plan, driving double-digit annual growth and
leading to the company’s sale to the Financial Times in 2008.

Additional experience includes corporate finance at Desilva & Phillips, a media
investment bank, and market research & analysis in Smith Barney’s Equity
Research and Asset Management divisions. Michael earned an MBA from Columbia
University and a BA in economics from Boston University.

Chris Larson, Contributing Editor

Chris is based in Singapore and focuses on clean tech and sustainability issues
in China and the rest of Asia while also providing editorial input and support
across all of CleantechIQ’s coverage areas. He’s worked for Bloomberg News and
the Financial Times, and has written news, features and analysis pieces on
topics including hedge funds and asset management, institutional investors,
environmental issues and other topics in New York, London, Chicago and the
Caribbean.

Christopher Maag, Contributing Reporter

Christopher Maag has covered financial and breaking news and feature stories for
magazines, daily newspapers, alternative weeklies and websites including The New
York Times, TIME, Popular Mechanics and Huffington Post. He is currently writing
his first book. He lives in Newark, New Jersey and recently became the proud
father of Little One, an all-black, very fat cat.

Sarah Horn, Contributor

Sarah Horn is a San Francisco-based writer and communications professional with
expertise in energy, tech and finance. Sarah has previously worked at the
Boulder Daily Camera and the Denver Post. She has a master’s in journalism from

Kazuha Kurosu, Research Intern

Kazuha is a candidate in the graduate program for Environmental Policy and
Sustainability Management at The New School. She is constantly involved with the
development of healthy urban food systems in NYC. Her sustainable agriculture
related research involves visiting and interviewing relevant businesses. She is
experienced in organic farming as well as greenhouse and hydroponics operations.

Keith Raab, Senior Advisor

Keith co-founded Cleantech Connections LLC., a firm focused exclusively on
serving economic development agencies, helps its clients gain global exposure
and recognition through; market intelligence and positioning, connections to the
entire cleantech ecosystem, streamlined access to entrepreneurs, investors and
global thought leaders, and positioning at industry relevant events.

Prior to forming CleanTech Connections, Keith co-founded the Cleantech Group,
introduced the cleantech concept in 2002, created the taxonomy for the industry
that is still widely used today, and has helped build it as a viable investment
category.  Keith served as the company’s CEO from 2002 to 2009 and as its VP of
Business Development/Sales from 2009 to December 2011.
