Rochester, N.Y. ― A Rochester-area man pleaded guilty today in federal court to
using hidden cameras in a church shower and a home bathroom to collect images
and videos of victims, including underage boys.

The videos and images included at least five boys at a church in Holley in
Orleans County, according to court papers and a news release from the U.S.
Attorney Office for the Western District of New York.

Stephen Nicot, 61, also used hidden cameras to record boys using his bathroom in
his home, prosecutors said in court documents.

He collected the photos and videos between 2012 and 2022, according to court
papers.

He told investigators he also watched the videos live via an app on his phone,
according to court papers.

Nicot set up cameras inside bathroom vents, exhaust fans and hid them on
bathroom shelves to record victims, prosecutors said.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office executed a warrant of Nicot’s residence and
recovered a memory card, USB drive and two phones in July 2022, court documents
said. The devices included several videos and images of adult and minor victims
using bathrooms and showering.

Nicot pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography. He faces five years to 20
years in prison when he’s sentenced on May 6.

Authorities did not reveal the name of the church or Nicot’s association, if
any, with the church. Syracuse.com | The Post-Standard has reached out to
prosecutors for more information.
