process to buy or lease IPv4 space. We serve a wide spectrum of clients, from
the largest mobile network providers and datacenters, to local credit unions and
new startups.

Advantages of Leasing

Leasing IPv4 addresses greatly lowers the upfront cost and
time-to-implementation compared to buying.  It also provides flexibility to
scale up or down based on your business needs and requires no long-term
commitment.  Addresses may be allocated and used within 72 hours of initial

Buying

For long term use, we simplify the process of purchasing IP addresses for your
company as a reliable IPv4 broker. 

Process overview:

 1. Written agreement.  The start of the process is a written agreement stating
    pricing, request size and terms. 
 2. Payment deposit.  The purchase price is deposited in a recognized escrow
    service.  This ensures your funds are safe and only released upon completed
    transfer.  
 3. Buy / sell matching.  We source the request from our available pool of
    offers.  
 4. Network authority review.  We prepare and submit the transaction to the
    network authority.  Our experience ensures that it is approved smoothly.
 5. Address transfer.  We ensure that the transaction is accurately completed.
 6. Release of funds.  Upon successful and accurate completion of the
    transaction, funds are released to the seller.

Worldwide, the pool of IPv4 addresses have been fully allocated. As no more IPv4
addresses can be generated, the only way that data centres and
telecommunications companies can expand is if unused addresses are reclaimed for
use.




TURN YOUR ASSESTS INTO DOLLARS

We are currently working with a single organization that was allocated over
800,000 addresses in the 1990s.  This was before the invention of firewalls,
NAT, VPNs, overlay networks or IPv6. This organization is actively using less
than 400 addresses and have plans to decrease that number.

What to do with the excess, unused allocations? 


OPTION A: SELL

The organization above is using less than 1/10000th of what they were
allocated.  After consulting with iLumin, they are currently planning to sell a
portion of their excess capacity, and keep a portion for future use.

process of finding a buyer and then completing the necessary legal requirements
of the network authority.  We will ensure you get the best price possible.




OPTION B: LEASE

If your organization has unused IPv4 addresses, and wants to retain ownership,
they can be converted into additional income with our leasing and management
services. 

iLumin has generated thousands of dollars of income for organizations that did
not even know they owned addresses from the early 1990s. 

We are currently working to break the $100K per month in lease payments to our
clients.  

We actively manage our leases by carefully vetting renting applicants.  Our
automated monitoring, notification and escalation systems ensure that rented
networks are being used for approved purposes.  Where needed, we can terminate a
lease within a matter of hours.

Obviously, the more the merrier, but any allocation will generate income.

DURATION OF THE LEASE

Data center clients like to have blocks for 2-5 years to minimize configuration
changes.  In general, the longer you lease to us, the higher rates we can
provide. 

FIXED OR FLOATING LEASE

We price and market our networks aggressively.  But just like in real estate,
sometimes we cannot find a leaser.  If you share the risks with us, we reward
you with up to 40% higher lease rates. 

We also can manage ARIN billing so that you  receive a monthly AP usage report
and an automated deposit in your account.

If any part of your organizational structure has change, re-established,
spun-off, merged with, or been acquired by another legal entity, there is a

In the early 1990s, resource allocations were just a single email message. 
These allocations, which were free prior to 1997, are now potentially worth tens

The process of unlocking “Legacy” accounts (created prior to 1997) can be time

documentation, and producing contracts that meet the verbiage required. 

We have even hired a private investigator to find a corporate director that had
immigrated so they could attest to the truthfulness of a donation.

Mark Grant is the most senior graduate from the full time MBA program at the
University of Victoria.  His technical career of over 35 years focused on high
performance computing includes the founding the first Internet Service Provider
in Victoria, over 12 years contracting with the US Internal Revenue Service, US
Department of Defense, US National Institutes of Health, and numerous other
organizations.
