OVERVIEW

ETLegalworld is announcing its second episode of its series- Legal Leaders
Forum. We will be delving into the nuances of The Digital Competition Bill.
Deemed as a watershed moment, the Digital Competition Bill that was released in
India in March 2024, is a much needed step by the government to regulate the big
tech firms like Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft and Apple. The Bill marks a
major shift in how India regulates its booming digital market. It targets
"Systemically Significant Digital Enterprises" (SSDEs) large platforms with
immense infl...uence.

By establishing a framework to regulate large digital platforms, the bill seeks
to prevent anti-competitive practices that could stifle innovation and limit
consumer choice. If implemented, the bill has the potential to create a more
level playing field in the Indian digital economy, benefiting both consumers and
companies. Read More
