AARP MT, TRANSPORTATION WEBINAR - NAVIGATING PARTNERSHIPS WITH MDOT, MT, OCT 26,
2022

In this second transportation webinar we’ll get some tips from Transportation
for America to help local officials collaborate with the Montana Department of
Transportation.

Federal policymakers often assume that rural residents enjoy driving long
distances to accomplish daily needs.

But this is not the reality of rural life, where life is typically arranged
around small downtowns and many residents don't have access to a car.

It’s important to note that frequently our state transportation departments,
like the Montana Department of Transportation, command the lion share of
transportation funding. Not only do they often own critical streets in your
community and they also have authority over statewide standards that govern
design of streets they don’t own.

This webinar is brought to you by AARP Montana in collaboration with the
Montana League of Cities and Towns and Smart Growth America.
