WAKAZE - SAKE MADE IN FRANCE

Still little known in France, sake is to Japan what wine is to France. An
ancestral and iconic drink, brewed with a unique know-how.

WAKAZE is bringing a breath of fresh air to this industry, and creating a MADE
IN FRANCE sake, using ingredients sourced in France from the best producers. Our
sakes are like no other, and are the proud representation of our Franco-Japanese
heritage.

A mix of genres and techniques that allows us to create UNIQUE, MODERN and

Born from the imagination of two friends and entrepreneurs, Shoya and Takuma,
WAKAZE sake is a breath of renewal on this atypical industry. 

Made in France from local ingredients, WAKAZE sakes are environmentally friendly
and adapted to a modern, international audience, while respecting the long
tradition of Japanese brewing.

An ancestral know-how which blends with a modern vision to create a sake fitting
to the French climate and culture; a unique beverage ready to seduce a whole new
audience!

THE WAKAZE WAY

Sake is produced from water, rice, yeast and koji, a fungus that grows on rice
grains. The brewing of these elements is a subtle balance that delivers an
alcohol that is fermented, but not distilled.

At WAKAZE, most of these ingredients, such as water and rice, come from France,
and in particular from the Camargue, a magical nature reserve in the south of
France.

By selecting the purest ingredients from French soil, WAKAZE creates unique,
environmentally-friendly cuvées just outside Paris, suitable for an
international audience.

Sakagura (酒蔵) means saké brewery and is a combination of the word “saké,”
changed to saka, and kura, changed to gura, meaning “brewery.”
