How do I create an account?

Any EU citizen who is over 18 can create an account. Just download the app in
the App Store or Google Play store, go through a quick onboarding process, click
through our in-app academy, deposit some money (starting at 1 EUR), get your
first stock for free, and have fun!

How can I add money to my Birdwingo account?

Adding money to your account is a piece of cake! Check out these options:

 1. Bank Transfer: Send funds via your bank – easy, secure & in most cases
    instant. You can find your details in the Profile section.
 2. Card Payment: Instantly add money with your credit/debit card.
 3. Apple Pay: Apple user? Pay effortlessly with your device.

A few seconds and you can start investing!  

How much does using Birdwingo cost?

We only charge a 0.49% trade fee from your total invested amount, until it
reaches $1 value. From that point it’s kept on $1, no matter the value invested.
This covers third-party fees. The app is free, there are no withdrawal fees, no
trade execution fees, no management fees, no custody fees, no deposit fees, no
FX markups, no spreads, no inactivity fees or any other fees we might have
forgotten to mention.

What currencies do you accept and what exchange rates do you use?

At the moment, we accept EUR and CZK. Gradually, we will start accepting all
European currencies and US dollars. Unlike others, we use the interbank exchange
rate (the same Revolut uses) and do not charge any currency exchange fees.
Interbank exchange rate is the rate that banks use to trade currencies among
each other – that is exactly what you are getting as well.

Can I trust Birdwingo?

You can, 100%. And you don’t have to rely only on our words.

Insurance for your money. Your investments are legally insured up to $500 000 (~
450 000 €) per user under the Securities Investor Protection Corporation scheme.
In addition to this, your money is insured up to €50,000 per user under the
standard European Investor Compensation Scheme. Cherry on top, Birdwingo is also
commercially insured against incidents.

Regulatory oversight. Operations are fully backed by our partner Wealth Effect
Management, which is a fully registered stock broker regulated by the National
Bank of Slovakia with the ability to offer services in other EU member states.
Trading takes place through Alpaca Securities, regulated by the US regulator
FINRA. It manages large amounts of transactions worldwide every day.

Strong investors. We are greatly supported by Bienville Capital, a New York
City-based venture capital fund that manages assets worth more than $3.7 billion
& invests in iconic tech companies globally. Their leadership, former managing
directors of JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank in NYC, regularly advises us on
strategy and facilitates amazing connections.
