This Personal Alarm is for anyone at risk of duress, dementia or has medical

People with dementia/cognitive impairment are at risk of wandering and getting
lost because they are disoriented, restless, agitated and possibly anxious. Once
lost they are in danger of injury and even death from falls, accidents and
exposure. The acute medical conditions associated with these conditions compound
the likelihood of serious negative outcomes. Disturbed sleep patterns can result
in unexpected wandering at night.

Some dementia/cognitive impairment sufferers can believe they are looking for
something (such as a familiar place, a familiar person or something to eat) or
think they need to fulfill former obligations. This results in goal-driven
wandering which can be industrious and purposeful, where the person is searching
for something or someone.

Others may engage in random wandering, which can sometimes have no real purpose.
They may be attracted by something initially then become quickly distracted by
something else.

Location Devices and Trackers can play an important role in dementia care and
management. They can also be useful for people with mild cognitive impairment,
who can become confused or disoriented.

Incidents of disorientation and forgetfulness are a common symptom of Mild
Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Dementia, and other diseases like Parkinson’s that
can affect cognition. Location finding devices and trackers come into play when
these events of disorientation happen somewhere other than in the home.

As an example, consider a loved one with relatively mild dementia, who has a
very well-known routine, and can function well so long as they are in familiar
surrounds or environment. But if anything changes, for example a deviation while
out driving, walking, or the need to go to an unfamiliar place, or just having a
“senior moment”, the person might find themselves muddled or unsure about where
to go and in need of a dementia alarm or person to provide a little help or an
ability for someone to locate them.

USING ALTERNATE SIM CARDS


Network carrier’s main band; SIM cards must be compatible with at least one main
frequency band to work.

SIM cards work on multiple frequencies, the more bands and frequencies your SIM
card has in common with the devices listed frequencies, the better. It means
your lone worker device will be able to pick up either the carrier’s 3G or 4G
LTE more readily, in more places.

You want to especially make sure your device works on the carrier’s primary
bands, as they represent the majority of the network signal they put out. Check
with your local carrier to find out their main frequency band in your area.

USA CANADA – Comparable SIM cards must use UMTS / HSPA 850 / 1900 MHz (3G)
and/or B2/B4/B12 (4G)


EUROPE/UK/AFRICA – Comparable SIM cards must use UMTS / HSPA 900 / 2100 MHz (3G)
and/or B1/B3/B7/B8/B20 (4G)

ASIA/OCEANIA/SOUTH AMERICA -Comparable SIM cards must use 850/1900MHZ (3G)
