HIGHWORTH TOWN COUNCIL



The Council is the first tier of Government and is made up of 15 elected
Councillors.  A Councils responsibilities, rights and functions are all laid
down in various Local Government Acts as is the case with Highworth Town
Council.  These are laid down as a Duty or Power, a Council cannot act unless
there is a power in law to do so.  Below are some of the things carried out by

INVITATION TO TENDER - BARRA CLOSE PLAY AREA



The Council is currently seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified
contractor to refurbish and enhance the Barra Close Play Area.

If you are a Contractor who would like more information please see the
Invitation to Tender.  You can also view the Notice for this Tender on the
Governments Website.

Responses to be received by post or email to the Highworth Town Council by
31.10.2024 at 5pm.


HIGHWORTH SATURDAY MARKET - NEW BUTCHER NEEDED



We are looking to expand our Saturday Market and are keen to invite a new
butcher to join us.

HIGHWORTH OLD GOLF COURSE


Future of the Old Golf Course in Highworth
Swindon Borough Council Cabinet met on Wednesday 17th July 6.00pm at Swindon
Council Offices to discuss the future of the Old Golf Course. More details can
be found on our Facebook page.


ALLOTMENTS AVAILABLE




We currently have plots available for new and existing tenants.  The cost is
very competitive, only £30 a year!

TWINNING ASSOCIATION

 The Highworth Twinning Association was formed in 1990 when the Town twinned
with Pontorson in Normandy, France.  In June 2010 Highworth Twinning Association
celebrated 20 years of twinning and also a signed Charter formalising its
twinning arrangements with Wassenberg, Germany.
