A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CLEPPE A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CLEPPE

zoom_out_map

Dear BHS Student and Families:

Happy Mother's Day. What a beautiful day to celebrate mothers. Mothers come in
some many ways, whether it be by birth, blended, family or friendship. It is a
wonderful day to celebrate those who nurture, guide, teach and protect children
everywhere. I hope you all had an amazing day.

This week we do have plans to conduct our Evacuation Drill on Tuesday May 14th.
An email was sent out last Friday with more details. We will be monitoring the
weather so please make sure to watch your email, social media, etc. for updates
on Tuesday morning as we may have to pivot and postpone the drill. This would
cause us to move to our normal bell schedule for the day.

We will also be celebrating Future Ready Week this week. Check out the Career
Corner for more information. We kick off the week with Monday being "Running
Toward Your Future". Wear athletic gear and participate in the scavenger hunt.
See this section for more weekly activities.

Things to note in the WAG:

 * CCIR Courses for Seniors. Filling out this form does not enroll the student
in the course, they will be given a packet of information to go over with a
parent/guardian and will be scheduled time with their counselor to adjust
   their schedule.
 * Yearbook distribution starts this week
 * Career Corner - Future Ready Week

Have a great week everyone.

Highlights:

This past Wednesday, Robert Matera and Noah Gehler qualified for the State
Doubles Tournament. The team also advanced to the Substate Final with a win
today over Iowa City Liberty.

Track and Field had a great night at the State Qualifying meet last Thursday
(despite the rain) with several automatic bids (1st or 2nd place at the
Qualifier automatically advanced, top 12 times in 4A after that) to the State
Meet next week. Here are the automatic qualifiers and we added more as we are
taking 23 girls to state! Go Bulldogs!

 * 800 Sprint Medley (Tatum Miller, Abby Reilly, Carson Bohonek, Maya Williams)
 * 4x800 (Mackenzie Schaefer, Calista Rasmer, Ella Ripslinger, Maya Williams)
 * 100m Dash (Carson Bohonek)
 * 400m Dash (Maya Williams)
 * 400m Hurdles (Tatum Miller)
 * 4x100 (Maya Williams, Anna Ostrom, Abby Reilly, Carson Bohonek)

Shout out to the boy’s track team as well. We have 12 more track and field
qualifiers. Good luck next week everyone!

We are excited to host state playoff games for soccer next week. Congratulations
to the MAC Champs boy’s soccer team. What a great season and good luck in the
post season.

The girls' soccer team is finishing strong with 2 wins this past week. Good luck
on the home stretch of the season with two games this week before we head into
post season.

Sincerely,

Kristy M. Cleppe

SENIORS AND SENIOR PARENTS

A final Senior Bulletin will be sent home next week with updates on remaining
Senior activities, graduation updates, etc.

Senior Pranks

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I wanted to take a moment
to address a matter that's important for our school community. This time of
year, the topic of senior pranks tends to surface.

While I understand that senior pranks can sometimes seem like harmless fun, it's
crucial to remember that they can have serious consequences. Not only can they
disrupt the learning environment, but they can also pose safety risks and damage
school property. As such, I want to make it clear that senior pranks are not
allowed at our school.

Our goal is to end the year on a positive note, celebrating the accomplishments
of our seniors and creating lasting memories. I encourage all of you to channel
your creativity and energy into constructive and meaningful activities that
reflect positively on our school community. If you have any questions or
concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or any member of the
administrative team.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and let's finish the year strong!

PARENT INFORMATION RE: EMERGENCIES & FAMILY REUNIFICATION PARENT INFORMATION RE:
EMERGENCIES & FAMILY REUNIFICATION

KEEP YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION UP-TO-DATE

Be sure to keep your contact information (phone numbers and email) up-to-date
throughout the school year.

zoom_out_map

IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY . .

 * Remain Close to Your Phone - Remain close to your sources of communication,
phone or email, to ensure you are receiving accurate and timely updates on
   the emergency from district staff.
 * Keep Roads & Lots Clear! - DO NOT go to the incident site ahead of school
communication regarding student reunification. Keeping roads and lots clear
of additional traffic is crucial for our EMS responders!
 * Picking Up Your Student - The district will communicate to parents how, when
and where to reunite with their student. Parents will be directed to a
specific location that could be located off campus. It is important that
parents follow these directions for the safety of all students, staff and
   parents.
 * Emergency Contacts Only - A student can only be released to an adult who is
documented as an emergency contact. Be sure to keep your student’s emergency
contacts up-to-date throughout the school year.

 * Bring Photo ID - If we need to have a controlled release of students,
parents, guardians and emergency contacts will need to show proper
identification before the student will be released.

zoom_out_map

FAMILY REUNIFICATION

Circumstances may occur at the school that require parents to pick up their
students in a formalized, controlled release. This process is called a Family
Reunification and may be necessary due to weather, a power outage, hazmat, or if
a crisis occurs at the school. A reunification may occur at a different location
than the school.

 * Look for Direction - Signage will be available to identify where parents park
   and check-in.
 * Please Be Patient - We care about you and your students! Please be patient as
we work to get you and your student back together as quickly as possible
while working to ensure the safety of all.
