ORACLE ACCESS GOVERNANCE ADDS IDENTITY LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT AND EXPANDED TARGETS

Oracle Access Governance is a cloud native identity governance and
administration (IGA) service that provides customers a simple,
easy-to-understand view of what resources individuals can access, whether they
need that access at all, and how they’re using the entitlements.

Every day, businesses are challenged to enforce appropriate just-in-time access
user rights to manage control of their information and address regulatory
compliance requirements of least-privilege access. With immediate and
prescriptive guidance about the types of access identities should have, Access
Governance makes it easier for administrators to quickly provision new users and
deprovision departing users.

Machine learning (ML) intelligence in Access Governance can also monitor all
types of access for anomalous behavior patterns and automate remediation actions
as required. Instead of big, manual, periodic reviews, Access Governance allows
for continuous compliance of the proper access management, where risk is
constantly evaluated and alerted. Events and access at risk are being reviewed
regularly and informed by built-in intelligence. This continuous compliance
model can help significantly reduce cost and effort for audit response. Access
Governance continuously adds target systems where it provides strong insights
into access controls across new applications, cloud, and on-premises
environments.

Our current release and upcoming plans include support for Oracle Fusion
Applications, Oracle E-Business Suite, MySQL, ServiceNow, SalesForce, Workday,
other licensed applications and non-Oracle workloads, such as IBM DB2 and
Microsoft Active Directory (AD), and multicloud environment governance, such as
Microsoft Azure AD. As a result, organizations have a unified view of access
across the company, which helps address regulatory requirements for digital
identities.

SERVICE UPDATES

We’re excited to introduce the latest update of Oracle Access Governance, which
retains focus on an interactive user experience for business users, codeless
workflows, faster app onboarding, and zero data migration requirements. This
update includes the following key functionality features:

 * Automated and flexible access controls
 * Ability to designate app and resource owners
 * Simplified user experience for self-service access requests
 * Enterprisewide access views
 * Enhanced regulatory compliance
 * Expanding connectivity
 * Updated pricing models that provide more flexibility to accommodate various
   customer use cases

AUTOMATED AND FLEXIBLE ACCESS CONTROLS

Access Governance boosts identity administration efficiency by automating
identity lifecycle management and access governance processes. This automation
includes seamless management of access using several modes of access control:
Attribute-based access control (ABAC), role-based access control (RBAC), and
policy-based access control (PBAC).

Figure 2: Administering access controls in Oracle Access Governance

The following factors enable access controls in Oracle Access Governance:

 * Access bundles: Access bundles are a collection of permissions associated
   with an application or service or a use case tied to a corporate policy. They
   then assign permissions to identities through policies.

 * Identity collections: Identity collections are a set of identities, who are
   referred as the collection’s members. Identity collections are created to
   assign access privileges over applications and resources to its
   members. Identity collections enable fine grained attribute-based access
   control to be applied over the access bundles.

ABILITY TO DESIGNATE APP AND RESOURCE OWNERS

Access Governance facilitates delegated ownership of apps and resources,
allowing businesses to manage identity collections, while application or
resource owners can oversee access bundles including accounts and entitlements.
This delegation enables efficient and streamlined management of access rights,
promoting collaboration and accountability among stakeholders.

SIMPLIFIED USER EXPERIENCE FOR SELF-SERVICE ACCESS REQUESTS

Access Governance provides a simplified access request console. End users can
request access to any workload, triggering workflows for approval and access
provisioning, helping ensure a smooth and controlled access request workflow.
Administrators manage these requests centrally.

Enterprise-wide Access Views: Access Governance provides visibility into user
access across the entire organization, providing insights into which users have
access to specific applications, resources, and services in near real time.
Managers can see the access map of their teams, enabling them to understand and
oversee the access privileges of their team members. Individual users can also
view their own access permissions, giving them transparency and awareness of
their own access rights.

ENHANCE REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Oracle Access Governance helps enforce and attest to regulatory requirements
associated with identifying who has access privileges to sensitive, high-risk
data, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, 21 CFR Part 11, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, HIPAA, and
GDPR.

EXPANDING CONNECTIVITY

With the previously supported connected systems, Oracle Access Governance
expands connectivity to the following systems, applications, and cloud:

 * Active Directory
 * IBM DB2
 * MySQL
 * Oracle E-Business Suite
 * Oracle Database
 * Cross region multiple OCI governance

PRICING AND LICENSING UPDATES

Oracle Access Governance empowers customers to optimize their investments
through a flexible and cost-effective pricing and licensing model. The pricing
structure follows a tiered approach, resulting in substantial cost reductions as
the number of identities grows. In this update, we have introduced a new
licensing option.

Oracle Access Governance provides a range of pricing options to ensure a license
model that matches customer use cases. Among these offerings, the latest
addition is Oracle Access Governance Premium with two metrics:
“Workforce/Employee Users” and “Consumer/External Users.” This license type is
specifically designed to provide a pricing structure that covers all
integrations within a single instance, enabling customers to effectively address
their enterprise-wide access governance requirements. For more details, refer to
Oracle Cloud PaaS and IaaS Universal Credits Service Description document.

Access Governance also provides the ability to mark identities active or
inactive, allowing better control over monthly cost management. Customers have
the option to categorize these identities as either workforce users or consumer
users, based on their specific access governance requirements. For more details,
refer to Oracle Cloud PaaS and IaaS Universal Credits Service Description
document.

CONCLUSION

Oracle Access Governance provides advanced features to effectively address your
agile access governance requirements. By using these advanced features, you can
help ensure the secure and efficient governance of identities and access rights,
enhancing your overall security and compliance posture.
