Why did I receive an email asking me to verify my email address?
If you are reading this because you received an email from us asking you to
verify your email address, and want to be sure it came from us, note that the
verification link in the email starts with
https://auth0.accounts.westerndigital.com.

We launched the Western Digital account to improve the user registration and
sign in process for some WD and SanDisk products. This new account provides a
more consistent experience when accessing your different Western Digital
products.

We're continuing to add security features, such as two-factor authentication,
that you will see in the coming months. In the meantime, we have started a
campaign to confirm that the email addresses we have on file are valid.


What is a Western Digital Account?
There is a new way to log into My Cloud™ Home, My Cloud™ OS 5, ibi™ and WD
Cloud™ devices using Western Digital Account. This account provides greater
security and a more consistent experience when accessing different Western
Digital products.


Why did Western Digital transition to a new sign in process flow?
By moving to a single account and sign in process, you will enjoy a more
consistent experience when using different Western Digital products.


Which products transitioned?
My Cloud Home, My Cloud OS 5, WD Cloud OS 5, ibi and EdgeRover.


When did the transition happen?
The new sign in process was introduced in early 2022.


Does the sign in change at https://shop.westerndigital.com?
No – only the products mentioned above changed.


Does the sign in change at https://support.wdc.com and https://kb.sandisk.com?
No – only the products mentioned above changed.


Does the new sign in apply to encrypted external drives?
Unlocking devices such as My Passport and My Book using WD Discovery or WD
Security, and SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD using SanDisk Security did not
change.


Did my user ID (email address) or password change?
No – you will continue to use the same ones as you have now.


What should I do to prepare?
Nothing! The first time you access your account after the transition, you will
be prompted to sign in and you will experience the new sign in form in your
default web browser. The form will look similar to the one below:
