Has India reached herd immunity?

• Kids, Adults Have Similar Seroprevalence (HT)

> The exposure of children to Covid-19 has been similar to adults’, a
> serological surveillance study spearheaded by the All India Institute of
> Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has found, addressing fears that a third wave of
> Covid-19 could disproportionately affect children. The seroprevalence,
> presence of virus-fighting antibodies against Sars-CoV-2, among children was
> 55.7% across five study sites, in comparison to 63.5% among adults — the
> difference was judged to be statistically insignificant. In Delhi, which was
> one of the five sites for the study, the researchers found that 74.7% of the
> population – both children and adults – had been exposed to the infection.
> This is much higher seroprevalence than the state government’s survey from
> January where 56.1% were found to have antibodies against the virus.
>
> The samples for the AIIMS study were collected between April and May, and
> would not have detected antibodies of those who got the infection during the
> second wave. There was also an urban-rural divide in prevalence in Delhi-NCR.
> As compared to the 74.7% in urban settlements of South Delhi, the prevalence
> was 59.3% in villages of Delhi and Ballabhgarh. “Results show that a large
> majority of the population had already been infected by the time we conducted
> the study at Delhi urban site which belongs to lower and middle socioeconomic
> strata population and very congested neighbourhood,” the study said. With all
> locations other than Delhi being rural, the average seroprevalence in rural
> areas stood at 58.8% as per the study. The highest seroprevalence was found in
> Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh where 87.9% of the people had been exposed to the
> infection.
>
> More importantly, the seroprevalence among children and adults in the same
> regions were similar. “Wherever the prevalence of antibodies was high among
> the adults, it was high among the children, busting the myth that so far
> children have been less affected. The thing is, the binding of the virus to
> the human cell receptors is not very good in children and hence they mostly
> develop either asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic infection,” said Dr Sanjay
> Rai, one of the authors of the study and the head of the department of
> community medicine at the AIIMS. He added, “People have been saying that after
> the young, the third wave will impact children more. The fact is most of them
> have been already exposed to the infection along with their families. And,
> numerous studies have now shown that natural infection can provide better and
> longer protection against a second infection.”

More India.

• Avalanche of Numbers (D’Eramo)

> In the last few weeks, a report has been circulating in the online fora of the
> ultranationalist Indian diaspora. Its author, Shantanu Gupta, an ideologue
> closely associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatya Janata Party,
> ‘tracked the coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic in India of 6 global
> publications – BBC, the Economist, the Guardian, Washington Post, New York
> Times and CNN – via web search results over a 14-month period’. His argument
> is that these outlets have distorted and exaggerated the effects of
> coronavirus in India. On what does Gupta base this thesis? On the fact that
> all these sources have used absolute numbers rather than cases per million. By
> the latter metric, we are told, ‘India is one of the better performing
> countries on the global map’. Here he is undoubtedly correct.
>
> Countless times this spring we’ve seen the dramatic, record-shattering daily
> death counts from India, as it reportedly became the country with the third
> highest Covid deaths in the world. A quick look at these records: deaths in
> India reached their highest level on May 18th, with 4,525 per day. The USA
> topped this morbid leaderboard on January 12th with slightly lower numbers:
> 4,466. The UK reached its peak on January 20th, with 1,823 daily deaths; Italy
> on December 3rd with 993.
>
> The problem is, India’s population stands at 1.392 billion. The USA’s is just
> 332 million, while the UK and Italy have 68 and 60 million respectively. If,
> then, we were to count the number of deaths per million inhabitants, ranking
> the highest daily death count yields quite different results: the UK holds a
> strong lead, with 28 deaths a day per million inhabitant; Italy is in second
> place with 17; the USA follows with 14; and India comes last, with just 3 per
> million inhabitants. Regarding the total number of deaths per million since
> the beginning of the pandemic, each country is almost identical, the only
> change coming at the very top: Italy clinches gold with 2,091 deaths per
> million, the UK 1,873, the USA 1,836, and India just 243.
>
> One might argue that Indian statistics are unreliable (a fair objection, no
> doubt), due to the impossibility of accurately recording deaths in slums and
> other deprived areas. We now know that the true Covid death count in Peru was
> around triple the official figure. But multiply the Indian death count by four
> and it would still be inferior to that of more developed countries with far
> higher per capita incomes such as the USA, UK and Italy.
>
> So has the pandemic in India been a bed of roses, as Modi has repeated for
> around a year, and as Gupta still maintains? Not at all. Try selling this to
> the families brought to ruin buying oxygen tanks on the black market or rooms
> in facilities with ventilators, or to the millions of precarious workers sent
> back home on foot, without a penny or subsidy to speak of. Even if,
> epidemiologically, Covid has not hit India more violently than other
> countries, it nonetheless spelled catastrophe for the health service and the
> wider economy. The numbers presented to underscore India’s Covid ‘tragedy’ in
> reality told an entirely different story. They were a testament to the brutal
> inequality of Indian society and the awful state of its health service:
> underfunded, staffed with underpaid workers, and lacking all kinds of vital
> equipment.

Vaccination Indemnity Fund.

• Hong Kong Pays Off 3 Patients Who Suffered “Adverse” Reaction To Vaccines (ZH)

> For the first time since its mass-vaccination campaign kicked off three months
> ago, Hong Kong’s vaccination indemnity fund has paid out a total of HK$450,000
> ($58,000) as compensation for patients who suffered particularly severe
> reactions to inoculation against COVID. Out of more than 3MM doses of vaccines
> that have been administered in the city-state since February, HK’s Food and
> Health Bureau said it had received 74 applications for compensation as of June
> 10, 58 of which were still being processed. As of Sunday, 3,605 people had
> reported an adverse reaction to their jabs, roughly 0.12% of all vaccination
> recipients. Only 1.2MM, or 16.3% of the city’s population, has been fully
> vaccinated.
>
>
> Awards were given to patients whose reactions were deemed especially severe.
> “The principles of severity assessment include fairness to applicants, prudent
> use of public funding, transparency to the public, and based on medical
> science,” the bureau said in a statement. “Severity of individual cases is
> subject to case-by-case assessment according to their circumstances.” The
> compensation figures were revealed while authorities also confirmed a new
> imported case from Sri Lanka, which brought the city’s official tally to
> 11,881, with 210 related deaths. So far 21 deaths have been recorded involving
> people who received a jab two weeks before dying, although no connection has
> been made between he vaccination and the deaths, according to the state

• Scientist Backing Probe Into Wuhan Lab: We Waited Because Of Trump (DW)

> A scientist that signed onto a letter recently backing a probe in the
> possibility that the coronavirus pandemic originated from the Wuhan Institute
> of Virology admitted in an interview this week that she and other scientists
> did not come forward sooner to back the possibility that the pandemic
> originated in a lab because they did not want “to be associated with Trump.”
> NBC News reports: Chan was one of 18 scientists who published a letter in the
> journal Science last month calling for a more in-depth investigation into the
> virus’s origin that takes into account theories about both natural occurrence
> and laboratory spillovers. The letter helped kick-start a new round of calls
> to investigate the “lab leak hypothesis,” including demands from President Joe
> Biden and several leading scientists.
>
> The report noted that numerous experts in the field have said that
> little-to-no evidence has emerged over the last year or so and that the only
> thing that has changed is the “context and circumstances” around the debate of
> the pandemic’s origins. The report continued: “Chan said there had been

> racist rhetoric about how the coronavirus emerged. Trump fueled accusations
> that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a research lab in the city where the

• The Real B3W-NATO Agenda (Escobar)

Private debt is the ignored killer.

• The Role Of Public Debt And Private Debt In The Next Crisis (Steve Keen)

Well, Mr. Snowden, I, for one, miss the tacky website graphics and the
“glamorous MIDI audio” of Internet 1.0. That the blog-comments here are so
structured like the message-boards of old is part of the reason I find myself

Not much that folks around here don’t already know, but good to have
   confirmation.

One significant error that Chris makes is when he describes the fragility of
the mRNA in the jab and the ease with which the body can metabolise and clear
   it out.

In fact, for the scientists among you, they replaced the usually occuring
Uracil base with “pseudo Uracil”. This was done to make the mRNA more
resilient to degrading. I.e. even worse for the unlucky recipients.

Brett Weinstein’s “How to save the world in three easy ways” (the start is
clipped above) is well worth the three hours and putting up with the loud
serial entrepreneur and the too quiet scientist. Censorship and ostracization
are real. Facebook has taken the video down. But linked podcasts can be
googled. This video is too close to the truth. The discussion of science in
the coronavirus pandemic is banned. Unpatentable treatments ignored. The
question is by who? Perhaps, a dark force of Imperialists guided by
group-think, money and hubris are the ones who have cost the West trillions
of dollars in lost economic spending, grief and millions dead to generate a
   few more pharmaceutical billionaires.

Clearly, the statement that mRNA vaccines are safe and effective is a lie.
The real problem is that the risks are unknown. To earn a living, travel,
   receive acute medical or dental treatment, relief from long-COVID symptoms;
vaccination may be worth the risks; especially if otherwise healthy and past
the age of reproduction. Cancer is an unknown risk down the road. But the PR
marketing is that there is absolutely no risk. But, indeed, you have no idea
of how many empty chambers there are when you play jab Russian Roulette. It
is criminal that there is no strenuous surveillance of the outcomes of the
mRNA jabs nor a determination how effective the vaccines are in preventing
transmission. The failure of the public health system is a deadly debacle

The West is incapable of keeping its people healthy. Extracting wealth for
the 1% from everyone else is the game being played. There is no alternative.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said his meeting with President Biden in
Switzerland on Wednesday was hostility-free, adding that “on the contrary …
it was very constructive.” Putin described Biden as a “balanced and
professional man, and it’s clear that he’s very experienced,” and said “it
seems to me that we did speak the same language.”

Oh, “we” got something. We kept Germany as an ally; maybe more, but it’s
secret. What about that cyber-crime cooperation? Great Reset? Non-aggression
   pact?
Appearing on Hannity, Trump noted “We gave a very big stage to Russia, and we
   got nothing.”
He continued, “We gave up something that was unbelievably valuable. I stopped
the pipeline, NordStream II, and the pipeline was stopped, and it was given
back [to Germany and Russia] and nothing was gotten for it.”

Moon of Alabama summarizes the 2 hour summit:
   There were a few results:
The ambassadors of both sides, who had been recalled from Washington and
Moscow, will return to their posts.
There will be new expert rounds about cybersecurity.
There may be talks about an exchange of prisoners.
There will be new rounds about security, which means strategic nuclear
   weapons.
A joint statement by both sides about Strategic Stability has been posted in
Russian on the Kremlin site (machine translation):
Today we reaffirm our adherence to the principle that there can be no winners
in a nuclear war and should never be unleashed.
To achieve these goals, Russia and the United States will soon launch a
comprehensive bilateral dialogue on strategic stability, which will be
substantive and energetic. Through this dialogue, we aim to lay the
foundation for future arms control and risk mitigation measures.
That is a very important result and the upcoming talks will be interesting.
The U.S. will have to end its Missile Defense Program if it wants limits on
any of the new strategic weapon types Russia has introduced.

Questioning the timeline of ersatz-reality again…
I had a patient almost die of multi-organ infection in November-December
2019. All the hospital found was “coronavirus”, nothing.
Confidential documents have surfaced in a Confidentiality Agreement between
the U.S. National Institutes of Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and
Moderna showing they transferred “potential coronavirus vaccine candidates”
to the University of North Carolina, on December 12, 2019
. . . which was nineteen (19) days BEFORE the outbreak of novel coronavirus
   in China!
   https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/documents-u-s-gov-t-sent-mrna-coronavirus-vaccine-candidates-to-university-researchers-weeks-before-covid-outbreak-in-china-how-did-they-know-unless-they-caused-it

This experiment was carried out in Central America, too. The special tetanus
   vaccine causes “spontaneous” abortion.
This “vaccine” against pregnancy was developed by Dr G.P. Talwar in 1972. The
idea is to produce antibodies to the pregnancy hormone, such that the women
would not be able to carry a normal pregnancy. Women who were pregnant would
abort and those not pregnant would be rendered infertile. The report is
indeed disturbing. A few months earlier an article entitled “HCG Found in WHO
Tetanus Vaccine in Kenya Raises Concern in the Developing World” was
published by Oller and colleagues in the Open Access Library Journal.
The Oller report described young women in Kenya who were vaccinated with this
“Talwar vaccine” on the pretext of preventing maternal and neonatal (baby)
tetanus. Many of the samples of the tetanus vaccine that tested positive for
hCG was sourced from the Serum Institute of India.
The vaccine programme was promoted by the WHO and the Kenyan government,
funded by the Gates Foundation. Mothers-to-be were encouraged to take the
vaccine to prevent tetanus in their unborn babies, without being told that
the vaccine would prevent the baby from ever being born.

The rationale of an unvaccinated worker transmitting COVID to a vulnerable
patient seems to hold similarly well for those vaccinated, since the vaccines
are “non-sterilizing”, in the current parlance, not really doing much for the
innate immune system in the nasopharynx.

I have been following, for almost a year, “the Linux of COVID vaccines”, an
open source nasal spray vaccine, developed in Finland, and languishing for
over a year, due to lack of political/monetary backing. Nobody can make
   billions on it.

   This from this March:

Finland Had a Patent-Free COVID-19 Vaccine Nine Months Ago — But Still Went
   With Big Pharma
   Saksela’s team has had a patent-free COVID-19 vaccine ready since May 2020,
which they dubbed “the Linux of vaccines” in a nod to the famous open-source
operating system that also originated from Finland…
They believe their nasal spray, built on well-established technology and
know-how, is safe and highly effective.
“It’s a finished product, in the sense that the formulation will no longer
change in any way with further testing,” Saksela says. “With what we have, we
could inoculate the whole population of Finland tomorrow.” …
In the mainstream narrative, the first-generation COVID-19 vaccines from
Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca are typically presented as an illustration
of how markets incentivize and accelerate vital innovation. In reality, the
fact that the profit motive is the overriding force shaping medical research
has been devastating — particularly in a global pandemic. The Finnish vaccine
provides a striking case study of the many ways in which the contemporary
patent-based funding model has slowed down vaccine development, and how it
currently hampers the possibility of conducting effective mass-inoculation
   campaigns.
“We felt it was our duty to start developing this type of alternative,” says
professor Kalle Saksela, chair of the Department of Virology at the
University of Helsinki. “Back in the spring, I still thought that surely some
public entity will get involved and start pushing it forward. Turns out that
no situation is urgent enough to compel the state to start actively pursuing
   something like this.”

This is why as the market fails here, people are going to wake up to being
betrayed. By everyone. On everything. What is your anchor?

“Vaccine Passports: Business Rights vs Personal Freedom (Smith)”

They make this sound new and mysterious, but it’s been hashed out for
hundreds of years and enshrined in law. I can make a case in 10 seconds on
any of several platforms and positions that would stop this instantly. But
the only answer is: oligarchy, controlling government-enforced monopoly,
which has legal immunity from all law and consequences while reaping all the
benefits wrested from the people. TINA. There is no alternative.

How about this: the country was founded, there were NO corporations. To get
one you had to pitch to government and explain EXACTLY how giving you the
power of a mercenary army would specifically benefit the citizens, or no
business charter. If you stopped benefiting the citizens, made mistakes, your
charter was erased and you ceased to exist. How’s that sound to you Fargo?
You into “Capitalism” Google, Facebook? For that matter, Blackrock,
Blackwater and Exxon? Nope. So the system you presently have is fascism, or
near enough as makes no difference. There’s a light dusting of capitalism
from Jimmy’s Coastal Crab Shack and Joe’s Garage, but they’ve all been
bankrupted by COVID that left Midas and Wal-Mart (and casino/liquor
   stores/prostitution) wide open.

“Do private property rights and free markets extend to them as well,”

This is the world’s oldest, most pawed-over question ever. They just refuse
to enforce a single one of 1,000 years of established law. Look at Musk,
Twittering on against specific SEC judgements, Banks breaking their charters
100,000 times a quarter, pharma killing 10,000 people per harmful drug
   judgement, nobody goes to jail.

Private property rights? Whiskey Tango. Who is going to enforce them when the
government recognizes no rule of law but collusion and bribes?

There is no conflict here. Not between property and freedom nor anything
else. Just as in most articles or ideas, just incredible ignorance of law,
facts, and history, and no attempt to ask or find out.
HereLetMeGoogleThatForYou.com You know, we all thought that once people could
get free access to books without limit or shame, had a Star Trek computer
that had the sum total of all human knowledge, people would get smarter, stop
being deadly ignorant. The opposite has happened. Look for joke memes from
social media on the level of people’s (i.e. mens’) sex education. And their
deep, abiding to-the-death confidence in their astonishing level of
misunderstanding. With nothing but hundred-million videos out there, with no
   age-set firewall or protection.

The answer to defending ignorance? “No it isn’t. I refuse to look.” Just like
Epstein, Russia, MIC contracts, elections… “Look at me! I’m a bunny rabbit!
If I don’t look at it, it doesn’t exist!” The rest of society sees that and
says, “Looks good to me! Why you harshing my vibe, man? Why you attacking
   him? Words are violence.”

Like this: Fact, Truth, and Science deniers. To the Death!

“Scientist Backing Probe into Wuhan Lab: We Waited Because of Trump (DW)”

That goes with the scientists, corporations, even media platforms and groups:
they are not immune from liability of shouting “Sit Down or I’ll arrest you:
There’s no fire!” in a theatre on fire. Legal liability for active harm is
never suspended. Not even for Pharma companies despite their (il)legal
carve-out. It just takes a little longer to remove their illegal protections,
just like constitutional amendments protecting Illinois unions doesn’t make
   more money exist.

“the statement that mRNA vaccines are safe and effective is a lie”

Since they clearly do not know — or actually, knew from 10 years of previous
tests that it was deadly and is acting the same — and say it, that is “lie”
anyway, the only conclusion is that they WANT people to die. Particularly
older ones to actively solve their Social Security and Medicare problems.
This has been well-discussed back into the ’80s. Look! You were a problem and
I killed you. Problem solved! Useless eaters attained. Level 100.

The Pathocrats have shifted from lying about the origins of Covid to lying
full tilt bore about the adverse effects that the ‘vaccine’ (gene
   manipulation) is having.

The panic to get to 70% ‘vaccinated’ rate is because the vaccinated zombies
shed spike protein in public like crazy and at a 70% rate it establishes the
critical mass to have the spike protein, which is toxic, self perpetuate and
   self spread ad infinitum.

Contrary to • Lifting The Mask (Edward Snowden) piece that you picked, I

Vaccine passports are irrelevant to a society which is computerized.
You info is already on file, in data bases, (birth, census, banking, social
insurance number, health number, passport, vaccination number, employment,
driving license, credit cards, security cameras, etc)
Linking all this data can be done without your knowledge.
All of these data bases can track your movements without your input.

   • Hong Kong Pays Off 3 Patients Who Suffered “Adverse” Reaction To Vaccines
   (ZH)

I think the real story is: Which vaccine is causing the worst adverse
   reactions in Hong Kong?

Hong Kong is giving only two types of Covid vaccine: Pfizer (“Comirnaty”) and
Sinovac (“CoronaVac”). Through the end of May, they’ve given 1.3 million
injections of the Pfizer, and 1.0 million of the Sinovac.

Hong Kong’s records of major adverse events such as hospitalization or death,
during the last two weeks of May:

   Deaths: Pfizer 1, Sinovac 0
   Hospitalizations: Pfizer 34, Sinovac 18
   Bell’s Palsy: Pfizer 10, Sinovac 4
   Guillian-Barre Syndrome: Pfizer 1, Sinovac 0

For the entire vaccination period (not just the last two weeks of May), the
data in the report was limited, but this was noted:

Total number of adverse event reports (including the less serious symptoms):
   Pfizer 1,502, Sinovac 1,787
Bell’s Palsy (per million doses): Pfizer 29, Sinovac 37
Deaths reported (supposedly not linked to the vaccines): Pfizer 8, Sinovac 13
   Thrombocytopenia: Pfizer 1, Sinovac 0

The Gamma expired yesterday, levitating stocks. Today, right on cue, stocks
   (continue) to fall.

MarketWatch? “Stocks fall on Powell threat to (maybe) raise rates a tiny bit
TWO YEARS from now, after the 2022 election”. Right.

Anyway, I was watching the 10-year but it’s starting in the 2-year:

Rose 600% an hour. But hey: the Fed was overnight RePo’ing $1 TRILLION a day.
On TOP of the $100B a month, on TOP of the $6T federal budget, on TOP of the
Covid checks, on TOP of the 0% money (that is: totally 100% free money for
pals) for BlackRock to over-bid residential houses, on TOP of…

Why would you be surprised by the 2023 dotplot? They won’t raise rates in
2023. That is what 2008 was all about, the system is bankrupt and has been
ever since. I still think 100 years from now it will be well known that covid
was a scam and an excuse to print money because the system required it. The
great reset is an admission by the “elites” that the system doesn’t have much
time left. They are putting out feelers, getting your mind ready for what
they think should come next as long as they remain in charge.

   Covid in a skit

“Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition” Monty Python –

Isabella of Spain ran the franchise into the ground in the late 1400’s

Ferdinand was a moron, she was the brains with very expensive tastes.

She bankrolled Columbus because he promised lots of Gold Booty

Isabella also wanted the Moors and the Jews kicked out of Spain so she could
   confiscate their booty.

She dropped the Pope a line and she, can she, Isabelle of Spain, have all the
material possessions of the Moors and Jews, and he, the Pope, could ‘have’
their souls. He loved the idea.

   A win-win

Thus the Spanish Inquisition, the Great Reset of 15th century Spain.

The Inquisition confiscations gave the crown the financial ‘investment
capital’ to finance the Rape and Plunder of the New World for a century, a
   big payoff.

Spain would have sunk to backwater status in Europe had the Inquisition not
   paid off so spectacularly.

The article on Swexit was sorta OK. Skipping the comparison with the UK –
they are too different to be useful for comprehension imho.

The number of EU_CH bi-lateral accords (not treaties; they are in the main
commercial agreements) is about say 200 or more, not 100 – (it depends what
you count) and they are a pain in the neck.

An infuriating (to some) and clumsy patchwork of piece-meal ‘legal stuff.’
Moreover, and here is the kicker – there was (and is) built into the overall
picture, what is called the “guillotine clause” – which stipulates that if
one, 1, accord is denounced by CH, all the rest fall flat, are nullified as
well (total isolation! – this applies to ‘paquets’ of bilateral accords and
not all of them.. more horrid detail..)

This dismaying situation was, is, the result of decades of drifting about, of
quarreling around the edges, of compromises, good and bad. The guillotine
clause was always hanging over CH! (And F, D, etc.) Both parties wanted to
   end this state of affairs.

Support from the Swiss ppl for an ‘institutional’, ‘supra-ordinate’ or
‘generalist’ accord – clarifying and settling all the issues was thus quite
high, in 2015 or so, 64% would have voted yes to such an accord.

In 2020 that % was 22, and this March it was 15%. The ‘liberal left’
mentioned in the article is a tiny, really very marginal, part of the
population. (Even that is a stretch, those for the accord come from all over
the pol spectrum. Here the author applies his own lenses..) Even the
Socialists – the ‘liberal’ left – have for the past 25 years not dared to
speak one hushed word about joining the EU, they can foresee their demise.

   in F.
   https://www.24heures.ch/une-majorite-de-la-population-est-favorable-a-laccord-cadre-419355155386

Yet, both parties soldiered on, neither of them wanting to stymie, spoil or
destroy relations. However, it has been understood for a long time, 10 years
or more, that certain obstacles could never be overcome. The PPLs party (so
called populist right) adherents could never accept the super-ordinate EU
   courts.

The devil is in the details. One ex. re. the mention of high salaries in CH
in the top article. The EU allows, nay champions, *detached workers.*
Fantastique! Wunderbar! So Polish and Slovak guys and gals go and work in
Germany and France, and they are paid …like in their country (the details are
too bothersome, long..) These contracts are supposed to be limited in time,
exceptional, only temp. but of course they are abused. It is a kind of legal
‘sub-par’ or even ‘slave’ (when sent by a company with no way out) labor,
made ‘respectable’ by complex rules, bureaucratic obfuscation. (Almost) no
Swiss ppl, not even Swiss bosses can accept this.

Oroboros: Vaccine passports are psychological instruments of humiliation.

   Touche’.

At first it was just Walmart — I complained online, and wore no mask, defying
the rule that only the “fully vaccinated” may enter maskless. Now WinCo
(grocery chain, ESOP) has the same sign. Next week, the city public library
follows suit. Now, with the library, it hurts. I feel betrayed. I have always
loved libraries. (Was able to enter — not just “curbside” service now — with
my daughter this week. The new librarian who helped us was delighted to
actually meet my daughter…apparently my daughter has borrowed more books by
reserving them and picking them up “curbside” in the past year than any other
library patron of this small branch…and the librarian was finally able to put
   — half — of a face to the name.). The rule that all must wear masks is stupid
   — masks don’t protect us — but a rule that the unvaccinated be masked is
   insidious.

On Saturday I’ve been asked to be a ringer at a singing event at the local
retirement community. I’ll likely be the only one masked, the only
“unvaccinated” soul, making a non-verbal declaration to all present of my
perfidy. I told my friend who invited me (he apologized for the mask rule)
that I would wear my scarlet letter (for that is what it is.) If there is no
instruction regarding dress that I need to abide by as a performer, I’ll wear
one of my “Covid survivor” t-shirts. I feel that I need to shout from the
rooftops about this insanity, but I tread warily, knowing that if I step too
boldly that cognitive dissonance will come down hard on those whose ear I
wish to bend, and will shut their minds. Better to start with just a foot in
the door: “Oh, look, she is unvaccinated….and already had Covid…so how then
is she still a risk?” If I have to wear a scarlet letter, then wear with
   pride and make it count!
