About Us

We’re MI6, also known as the SIS. Our mission is to protect the security and
economic wellbeing of the UK from overseas threats such as regional instability,
terrorism, and cyber-attacks. Working across the globe and in close partnership
with MI5 and GCHQ, we help the Government to counter these threats through the
provision of secret intelligence. A role in MI6 will see you providing vital
support to this work, within a supportive and encouraging environment that puts
the emphasis on teamwork.

About the Role

You will work as part of a small professional motivated team who are responsible
for processing visitors to MI6 London Estates, both UK and Foreign Nationals.

 * Responsible for processing visitors to MI6 London Estates, both UK and
   Foreign Nationals. This may involve liaising with officers of all grades to
   ensure their visits are facilitated professionally.
 * Responsible for the collection of data relating to all visitors across MI6
   Estates.
 * Main contact for MI6, MI5 & GCHQ pass encodings and for updating access
   control systems as required.
 * Responsible for liaising with Head Office teams regarding new staff and
   contractor inductions.
 * Facilitate the printing of all passes as requested via the MI6 pass office
   for all MI6 buildings.
 * Compile and maintain security statistics, information, and records for the
   London Estate.
 * Create and maintain a daily diary for visitors to the MI6 Estate

About You

 * You will need GCSEs in English Language & Mathematics at Grade 4 or above (or
   equivalent)
 * Confident in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential as everything else can be
   learnt on the job.
 * You will need to have a mature/responsible attitude, comfortable working in a
   fast-paced environment.
 * Confidence is needed when facilitating visitors into the building and working
   as a team is also important in this role.
 * Problem solving can be an essential skill.

Training & Development

You will attend a first aid training course and attend internal training courses
as and when required to do so.

There will be a 2-day induction course to learn about MI6 and additional
training from the reception team.

What to Expect

Our recruitment process is fair, transparent, and based on merit. Here is a
brief overview of each stage, in order:

 * You will complete an application form which will be sifted by the hiring
   team.
 * If successful, you will be invited to a one-day assessment centre which
   includes:
   * Documents check
   * Competency question-based interview
   * Drugs test
   * Occupational Psychologist interview
 * If successful you will be given a Conditional Offer of appointment, subject
   to passing vetting and other checks carried out.
 * If you are granted security clearance, you will be given a final offer of
   employment and invited to sign your employment contract prior to starting
   your Induction course.

Please note, you must successfully pass each stage of the process to progress to
the next. Your application may take around 6 - 9 months to process including
vetting, so we advise you continue any current employment until you have
received your final job offer.

Before You Apply

To work at MI6, you need to be a British citizen or hold dual British
nationality. You can read our full eligibility criteria here.

This role requires the highest security clearance, known as Developed Vetting
(DV). It’s something everyone in the UK Intelligence Community undertakes. You
can find out more about the vetting process here.

Please note we have a strict drugs policy, so once you start your application,
you can’t take any recreational drugs and you’ll need to declare your previous
drug usage at the relevant stage.

The role is based in London, so you’ll need to live within a commutable
distance. Please consider any financial implications and practicalities before
submitting an application. A loan is available to support people relocating to
London.

are based overseas, you should wait until you visit the UK to launch an
