FOCUSED ON BACKFLOW

Each and every time you schedule your backflow test and certification with
Backflow Prevention Services of Wisconsin, rest assured that your testing will
be completed by a fully licensed backflow specialist that ONLY tests, certifies,
and repairs backflow preventers.

DID YOU KNOW YOU ARE REQUIRED TO TEST ANNUALLY?

Municipal codes require annual testing of backflow prevention assemblies to
ensure that they are functioning properly. The testing is required annually by
the state of Wisconsin. If testing is not completed on time, the water supply to
your property or business might be cut off. That is why we recommend scheduling
testing well ahead of time. We will remind you and schedule your test in
advanced of expiration so you don’t have to remember and worry about it!!

More information can be found regarding guidelines and statues online at your
local municipalities or at:

https://dsps.wi.gov/Documents/Programs/Plumbing/FAQCCC.pdf

https://dsps.wi.gov/Pages/RulesStatutes/TradesProgram.aspx

We process all paperwork and submit backflow test results/fees to the Wisconsin
Department of Safety and your local water municipality for you!

TESTIMONIALS

Here’s what our happy customers had to say about our services:

I am very happy with Bob and his services. He deserves a big raise!!!

I have had great comments come back from my crew about your service. In the past
our vendor was very hard to get a hold of and when he scheduled time with us
never showed up. Our records have been up to date on our backflows and have had
no issues with any audits..

Roger Huff & Bruce Herwig
Trans Continental Packaging

We have been using BPS to service all of our backflow valves the last couple
years and are very satisfied with the service they provide. They respond quickly
whenever issues come up and their pricing is lower then companies we used in the
past.

I can’t recommend them enough, give them a call you won’t be disappointed!

WHAT IS BACKFLOW PREVENTION?

Water is meant to flow in one direction, clean water in and dirty water out.
Backflow happens when you have a reverse in the direction and contaminated
water gets into the clean water supply, this can cause many serious health risks
to your family and the community.

Backflow preventers are put in service to help prevent this from happening, but
like any other device they need to be serviced and maintained.   Most backflow
preventers have rubber parts that can become damaged or  deteriorate over time,
that is why it is important to have your assembly tested yearly to make sure
that the water that you and your family are drinking is safe and clean.

POPULAR TYPES OF BACKFLOW PREVENTERS:

REDUCE PRESSURE PRINCIPLE ASSEMBLY

An assembly containing two check valves together with a relief valve located
between the check valves and at the same time below the first check valve. In
cases when backflow will result in significant harm, these devices are
considered suitable for the job – because they can effectively and reliably
prevent back pressure and back-siphonage. The redundantly secure design of this
device makes it suitable for protecting drinking water.

PRESSURE VACUUM BREAKER ASSEMBLY (PVB)

PVBs can be installed in systems where the potable water line (the line that’s
protected) is downstream from the non-potable water source. These devices
usually have test cocks where calibrated gauges are attached to ensure that the
device is working properly. The most common application for PVBs is in
preventing backflow in underground sprinkler systems.

SPILL-RESISTANT VACUUM BREAKER ASSEMBLY (SVB)

Spill-resistant vacuum breakers (SVBs) solve the problem of leaky assemblies.
They are similar in construction to PVBs, but they have additional diaphragm
seals to keep water from spilling out of the air inlet when the assembly becomes
pressurized. Like regular PVBs, spill-resistant vacuum breakers protect against
backsiphonage but not against backpressure.
