WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

Increasing landholder concerns about legal liability issues, workplace health
and safety requirements as well as changing attitudes to hunting prompted the
formation of the Australian Pig Dogging and Hunters Association Inc, (the APDHA)
in 2005. As the name suggests, APDHA represents responsible and ethical hunters
of all persuasions, but with an emphasis on those using well-trained hunting
dogs for feral pig control

SHINE A LIGHT ON OUR RESEARCH LIBRARY

Our members finance the APDHA Research Unit which works to gather, collate and
develop research relevant to pig hunting with dogs to underline the historic,
economic and environmental relevance of our culture to Australia and the world.

WHAT'S MAKING NEWS IN OUR WORLD?

The APDHA's Great Australian Pig Hunt is on with registered participants in line
to share a prize pool worth more than $36,500. The APDHA has been asked to help
collate monthly totals of pigs removed by hunters from the Australian
environment as part of a nationwide push to co-ordinate feral pig management. We
are be asking all hunters, not just members to tell us how many pigs they have
killed each month and we have some excellent incentives to make this work.
Members will be in line for the best prizes but there will be giveaways for non
members as well. Look for the Pig Hunt page on the website to register, read the
rules, log in your pigs and view the prizes. It's being updated all the time...

WHY JOIN THE APDHA?

AUSTRALIA-WIDE HUNTERS' INSURANCE

Liability Insurance cover which protects landholders and managers from any
damage that might be caused during legal hunting anywhere in Australia. Hunting

PERMISSION TO HUNT BOOKLET

Members can access a Permission to Hunt booklet which records landholder
details, conditions of access being granted (including expiry date, method of
hunting, etc) and hunter details. This booklet helps legal hunters and law
enforcement agencies communicate quickly about access and further isolate and
identify illegal hunters in the hunting community.
