The Swiss economy will further need continuous recruitment of highly skilled
specialists in 2024. The Swiss Federal Council decided on 29 November 2023 on
the number of quota applicable for the year 2024 for EU nationals on secondment,

decided to further apply the safeguard clause (covered by the Agreement on
Freedom of Movement) for the second year in a row and apply quota restrictions

FOR THE 2022/23 TAX YEAR

UK National Insurance Contributions (NICs) rates and thresholds are normally
only changed annually, with effect from 6 April this year. The 2022/23 UK tax
year is therefore very unusual as the rates or thresholds changed three times,
as a result of various changes in UK government and fiscal policy. As a result,

FOR SAUDI WORK VISA APPLICATIONS IN UNITED STATES AND PAKISTAN

Saudi consular posts in the United States now require Saudi work visa applicants
to submit an FBI criminal history report in addition to a U.S. police clearance
report, effective immediately. Starting from December 1, 2023, the Saudi
consular post in Islamabad, Pakistan, will also require a Pakistani police
clearance report for Saudi work visa applications. These new requirements may
cause delays in visa processing and affect start dates for affected applicants
and potential employers.
