WHERE OUR REVOLUTIONARY JOURNEY BEGAN...

Our journey commenced with a dedication to comprehensively understand various
facets of eyecare, spanning from the intricacies of Binocular vision mechanics
to the encompassing philosophy of optometric eyecare. Through this exploration,
it became evident that existing treatment options for patients afflicted with
untreatable ocular diseases were limited. Extensive research led us to the
realization that viable treatments for conditions such as AMD, Diabetic
Retinopathy, Amblyopia, and others exist, yet are not readily available in
Scotland.

This realization has positioned us uniquely to introduce a convenient and safe
treatment option for these aforementioned eye conditions. We are enthusiastic
about the opportunity to bring this groundbreaking therapy directly to our
community, with the aim of enhancing vision, one cycle at a time.

Another Nystagmus case to add to the bank 🏦

Very interesting indeed!

23 year old patient given consent to share.
Unique points to note:

1. Strong FH of Nystagmus. Both brother and mother have had nystagmus from a
young age.
2. Px feels that night driving is becoming an issue.
3. Null point in down gaze.

Following refraction, his best corrected VA was 6/6 binocularly.
I wanted to try something I hadn’t done before, I attempted to push his vision
into downgaze to achieve better VA’s using Base up Prism in both lenses.

Surprisingly it improved his vision, but not in the way I expected.
There was an improvement, of 2 LETTERS!

Weighing up the pros and cons of the additional weight from incorp prisms, I
decided to continue on without.

Although it wasn’t appropriate in this case, you need to weigh up the pros and
cons of your treatment, and tailor to the person sat infront of you. Always
remember this, YOU are treating a person WITH a symptom, not just the symptom.

Let me know your thoughts below, have you ever tried an unconventional approach
like this?
