Unique points to note: 1. Strong FH of Nystagmus. Both brother and mother have had nystagmus from a young age. 2. Px feels that night driving is becoming an issue. 3. Null point in down gaze. Following refraction, his best corrected VA was 6/6 binocularly. I wanted to try something I hadn’t done before, I attempted to push his vision into downgaze to achieve better VA’s using Base up Prism in both lenses. Surprisingly it improved his vision, but not in the way I expected. There was an improvement, of 2 LETTERS! Weighing up the pros and cons of the additional weight from incorp prisms, I decided to continue on without. Although it wasn’t appropriate in this case, you need to weigh up the pros and cons of your treatment, and tailor to the person sat infront of you.
