ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT



As a nonprofit learning organization dedicated to keeping attorneys and other
professionals at the forefront of knowledge and expertise, Practising Law
Institute (PLI) strives to make PLI.edu and its products and services as
accessible as possible to everyone regardless of ability. 

PLI is committed to promoting accessibility and inclusion and to making this
website accessible to individuals with disabilities. This includes taking a
range of actions and devoting resources to enhancing the accessibility of our
website and regularly working with consultants to review this website for
conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. 

PLI’s goal is to make programs and course materials available to persons with a
range of disabilities. In the area of captioning, PLI currently provides the
following resources for programs and course materials:

 * Live Programs.  PLI will provide live captioning upon request for any live
   program at no extra charge. Captioning requests must be received at least 48
   hours in advance of the live program for which captioning is
   desired.  Captioning requests may be made by email to info@pli.edu.  Our
   captions are prepared by live, professional captioners. PLI does not use
   machine translation.
 * On-Demand Programs.  Most recorded programs are closed-captioned no more than
   two weeks after the live presentation. Where possible, PLI will release
   captioned programs in less than two weeks. Captioning accuracy is important
   to PLI, and we have found that accuracy and other aspects of preparing
   captioned programs (e.g., inserting time codes) take some time to do
   correctly.  
 * Transcripts.  For the majority of program offerings, PLI creates transcripts
   at the same time we create captions for recorded programs. Within each PLI
   transcript, a user can click a sentence and the user will be taken to the
   point in the program where those exact words were spoken. 

PLI is constantly seeking to improve and enhance the accessibility of its
website and programming. If you have any feedback or suggestions as to how we
could improve the accessibility of this website or our products and services, if
you have questions about “closed captioning” or if you experience any difficulty
in accessing our site, please contact us at info@pli.edu. We will work with you
to provide you full access to the information, products and services available
to the public on our site.
