WELCOME TO CABARITA YOUTH SERVICE

Welcome to the only volunteer run Youth Services platform here on the Tweed
Coast. Cabarita Youth Service provides multiple service offerings that
specifically meet the diverse needs of the local youth.

Our mission is to Empower Young People – Connect Families – Strengthen
Communities.

BACK TO BUSINESS – JULY HOLIDAY PROGRAM – COVID SAFE FUN

We are so excited to be able to run our Holiday Program over the July School
Holidays!! In these unprecedented times we’re keeping all of our activities
local to the Tweed Shire and Activities are limited to Numbers. We have
developed our CoVid Safe Plan – click to Download a copy. Our Plan enables CYS
to safely run our activities, transport our Youth and also to keep our Youth
Worker / Volunteers to operate in accordance with the current regulations. Our
key defence against Covid-19 is vigilantly maintaining social distancing and
adherence to infection control measures. Your support to do this in both your
work and private lives, protects you, your family, your colleagues, our clients
and gives us the best chance to keep on supporting our community throughout
these difficult times.


COVID SUPPORT

Check out these awesome Fact Sheets from Headspace for helping to balance and
manage online Schooling and/or Working……. Share with friends and family and make
sure they are OK.

If you think your young person might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious or needs
additional support help is available.

By visiting the headspace website, young people can connect with others,
interact with self-help tools and access lots of great mental health resources.
This is in addition to one-to-one direct support that young people can access
via eheadspace or at headspace centres.

You can speak to your local General Practitioner (GP) and help make a plan to
support your young person’s mental health. Appointments with your GPs are
available over the phone, via a video chat or in-person.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! CYS IS TURNING 10!!!!

We’re so happy to announce that it’s nearly our 10th B’day!! From humble
beginnings CYS has grown into an incredible organisation kicking so many goals
for our local community and beyond!! This year has been our biggest yet and our
Annual General Meeting just passed, saw us acknowledging just how far we’ve
come!! 2018 helped put CYS on track for it’s sustainable future for the youth of
Cabarita and it’s our aim to continue Empowering Young People – Connecting
Families – Strengthening Communities!!!

The success of the Community Connections program is helping to Up-skill, Qualify
and Train Local Youth in a variety of employment opportunities. The youth have
been thriving in this program, who might have otherwise been disengaged and
sitting on the edges of society. It’s been amazing to watch them become
empowered and broaden their horizons!! Our hat goes off to our incredible Youth
Worker Chris Hitchcock for the success of this program and his incredible work
in our community!!! Thank you to the awesome local Businesses who provided a
training experience for the participants, we’re forever grateful!!

Our Holiday Programs have been amazing and watch this space to see what the
Summer Program will be offering!! We LOVE our volunteers who help out in these
adventures and would love to have some more People on board in these adventures
for the years to come.
