impulse testing (vHIT) and wideband tympanometry.

MR DARREN WHELAN

International Clinical Trainer
Darren holds an undergraduate degree in Audiology and a master’s degree in
Health Science, Neurophysiology and Clinical Research. His resume counts several
senior clinical positions in the NHS. Prior to his current occupation, Darren
held a clinical and research scientist role, where he investigated patients with
auditory and vestibular pathology, and managed a portfolio of research studies.

AMANDA GOODHEW

International Clinical Trainer
Amanda holds a Master's degree in Audiology from the University of Southampton.
She has extensive experience holding senior audiologist positions in numerous
NHS hospitals and clinics, where her primary focus has been pediatric audiology.
Her specific areas of interest are electrophysiology, neonatal diagnostics and
amplification, and the assessment and rehabilitation of patients with complex
needs.

DR MICHAEL MASLIN

Ph.D. International Clinical Trainer
After working for several years as an audiologist in the UK, Michael completed
his Ph.D. in 2010 at The University of Manchester. The topic was plasticity of
the human binaural auditory system. He then completed a 3-year post-doctoral
research program that built directly on the underpinning work carried out during
his Ph.D. Since 2015, Michael has worked for the Interacoustics Academy, a group
of audiologists based in Denmark who offer training and education in
audiological and vestibular diagnostics worldwide and offer a link between
clinical or research institutes and their industry partners. In 2017, Michael
and his family relocated to New Zealand where he continues in the same role with
the Interacoustics Academy and Diatec NZ. He is pursuing his research interests
at the University of Auckland with financial support from the Eisdell Moore
Centre.

MR. JACK BENNETT

International Clinical Trainer
Jack is an Audiologist from the UK and has worked in the NHS and privately in
senior, managerial and clinical training roles. He holds an undergraduate degree
in Audiology from Aston University where he is now a Visiting Teaching Fellow
focusing on clinical topics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

DR GABRIELLE MERCHANT

Au.D., Ph.D., CCC-A
Gabrielle R. Merchant, AuD., PhD., CCC-A, is an audiologist and hearing
scientist and the Director of the Translational Auditory Physiology and
Perception Laboratory at Boys Town National Research Hospital. She earned her BA
from Smith College (2009), her PhD from the Harvard-MIT Speech and Hearing
Bioscience and Technology Program (2014), and her AuD from the University of
Massachusetts Amherst (2018). Her translational hearing research focuses on
auditory mechanics, auditory perception, and advancing evidence-based practice
through improved clinical diagnostic tools. Her laboratory has a particular
focus on pediatrics, conductive hearing loss, and wideband acoustic immittance.
She has been utilizing wideband acoustic immittance and wideband tympanometry in
her research since her early undergraduate work with Dr. Susan Voss (2007). She
is passionate about research and efforts that will support the translation of
these measurements to clinical practice.

DR. PETER BRAY

Ph.D., Interacoustics OAE Specialist
After obtaining a Medical Physics degree, Peter Bray worked for 5 years as a
researcher in David Kemp's team at University College London. This led to a PhD
in Biophysics and the design of the ILO88 TEOAE instrument. The following 25
years were spent providing R&D services at Otodynamics designing TEOAE and DPOAE
instrumentation. Then, in 2014, Peter joined Interacoustics as an OAE specialist
and data scientist working on the full range of OAE topics in addition to ASSR
screening technology.

PROFESSOR JOHN A. FERRARO

Ph.D., FASHA, FAAA
John A. Ferraro, Ph.D., FASHA, FAAA, is a professor in the Department of Hearing
and Speech at The University of Kansas (KU). Prior to his arrival at KU, Ferraro
held positions of assistant and associate professor at The Ohio State
University's Speech and Hearing Science Section (1974-1981) and as clinical
neurophysiologist at Swedish Medical Center, Englewood, Colo. (1981-1984).
Ferraro's research interests are in the areas of auditory electrophysiology with
special emphasis on the clinical applications of auditory- and vestibular-evoked
potentials. He has pioneered techniques for using these potentials in the
diagnosis, assessment and management of otological/neuro-otological disorders.
With an additional focus specifically on the anatomy and physiology of the
auditory and vestibular systems, Ferraro has worked to develop and refine
non-invasive electrocochleographic approaches to help diagnose and monitor
Meniere's disease/endolymphatic hydrops.

Ph.D.
Martin Walger is Professor of Audiology and Head of the Department of Audiology
and Paediatric Audiology at the ENT University Clinic as well as the
audiological head of the Cochlear Implant Center (CIK) of Cologne, Germany.
Educated in the field of biology and audiology he earned his PhD investigating
effects of noise on the central auditory pathway. His scientific research
concentrated on the maturation and plasticity of the auditory system under the
influence of hearing loss. He is past-president of the German Society of
Audiology (DGA) and Council member of International Evoked Response Audiometry
Study Group (IERASG)
