Ubuntu Pro includes a subscription to Ubuntu enterprise services including the broadest security coverage in the industry, kernel live patching and certified components. Run the below command to see the services running on your Ubuntu Pro instance: $ sudo ua status 1. Full open source security coverage More than 30,000 supported packages available in Ubuntu as well as thousands of open-source applications securely patched and supported by Canonical. Run the below command to see available updates from the Ubuntu Universe and Ubuntu Main archives: $ sudo apt list --upgradable 2. Kernel live patching The Kernel Livepatch service automatically applies high and critical patches to the Ubuntu kernel without rebooting your machines, helping you to avoid unplanned downtime. Livepatch is pre-enabled on Ubuntu Pro instances*. If you would like to check which CVEs Livepatch is protecting you from, run the below commands**: $ canonical-livepatch status --format yaml OR $ canonical-livepatch status --verbose *Livepatch is not available for Ubuntu Pro FIPS images. **These commands will only show patches since the last time the machine was rebooted on an updated kernel. 3. CIS, FIPS and CC compliance solutions Your subscription gives you access to the CIS Benchmarking tool and FIPS 140-2 and Common Criteria EAL2 certified modules. To access the FIPS and Common Criteria packages, log a ticket in the ‘Requests’ tab. To enable and run the CIS benchmarking tool, follow these instructions. If you have a FIPS requirement, we recommend you launch our Ubuntu Pro FIPS premium images if possible. For more details, please visit our certifications documentation. 4. Optional 24x7 technical support If you need additional technical support services, a 24/7 SLA can easily be added onto your Ubuntu Pro instance through a private listing. Please get in touch to get started. 5. Ubuntu systems management To get started with Landscape, the Ubuntu systems management tool, contact customersuccess@canonical.com and our team will set up a Landscape account. New to Ubuntu? Check out our server documentation, CLI cheat sheet and CVE tracker. If you have any questions about Ubuntu and your Pro image, do not hesitate to contact customersuccess@canonical.com.
