What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, reporting to the
Executive Director of Inflammation MSLs, you will have 2 main functions: Payer
and Opinion Leader support and provision of customer engagement and strategic
leadership for priority internal inflammation project initiatives.



 * Forge positive relationships and cross-functional collaboration with key
   internal team members in Global Medical, Field Sales, Value and Access and
   Marketing teams to facilitate One-Amgen customer facing engagement
   strategies.

 * Serve as medical strategic inflammation lead to formulate innovative ways,
   tactics, and value propositions to drive customer decision making.

 * Identify and develop patient access strategy and research opportunities for
   US payers and key accounts ensuring alignment and inclusion of Inflammation
   scientific objectives.

 * Participate across internal teams for assessment of insights and views across
   reimbursement/provider landscape, assess impact of key events at Payer/IDN
   level and provide real-time updates for implications to Amgen’s portfolio.

 * Engage with healthcare collaborators on a national scale to communicate
   clinical and scientific data to advance the scientific platform as aligned
   with Amgen’s goals and objectives.

 * Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to
   payers, providers, key partners, advocacy, and access enablers

 * Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards

 * Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal partners.

 * Implement scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and
   metrics.

 * Develop and implement local OL plans in line with scientific engagement plan

 * Support speaker training as requested and ensure the speakers are updated on
   new data

 * Support Amgen sponsored research and may serve as a study lead.

 * Lead and/or participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and
   tactics as delegated by MSL leadership

 * Advance MSL value proposition, identify gaps, achieve results, and set an
   example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen values and
   leadership attributes.

 * Demonstrate tact and integrity when communicating and interacting with
   others.

 * Lead and support congress activities as aligned with strategy

 * Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to
   payers, providers, key partners, advocacy, and access enablers

 * Provide Inflammation Payer and Formulary Support through value and medical
   presentations that focus on therapeutic as well as economic outcomes and
   utilization aspects of products, and in clinical policy discussions such as
   evidence-based medicine, clinical guidelines and prior authorization in areas
   where Amgen has therapeutic expertise.

 * Interact with key internal team members to provide feedback on customer
   trends in interpreting and using value evidence, reimbursement and payer
   policy.

 * Serve as the MSL Lead at designated high priority regional payer and IDN
   accounts.

 * Develop relationship with account, implement account strategy as key partner
   to MAMCT account RAE.

 * Foster scientific information exchange as it relates to reimbursement and
   coverage policy between the medical community and Amgen.

 * Collect and report competitive intelligence within Amgen's competitive
   intelligence guidelines.

Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree and 4 years of Regional Medical Liaison
experience (or equivalent) engaging Health Care Providers and /or Managed
Markets, Payers



Preferred Qualifications:

 * Advanced medical/scientific/clinical degree preferred.

 * 4 years of provider/managed market/payer/IDN experience

 * Master’s degree in business administration

 * Excellent critical thinking skills, with proven ability to successfully lead
   the conceptualization, development and execution of a plan

 * Possess a willingness and ability to accelerate, inspire, adapt and integrate
   in a fast-paced, scientific, ambitious environment.

 * In-depth experience in US healthcare payer and integrated provider landscape

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $201,216-
