So, I have a stalker of 4 years who is insane and police have been useless to help... Long story short: I fear for my life and am trying to get justice. But, recently on one of her MANY Twitter accounts she has been sharing these fake DMs that look like I sent them from two of my accounts. I have her blocked, I do not speak to her, I want NOTHING to do with this sociopath, but she is so determined to hurt me she does some really insane shit. And so this fake DM stuff is her latest attempt to get people to think I'm the monster so they attack me. Before she was sending herself messages using the impersonation accounts she made of me on Instagram (she uses my real name a picture she got of me from the school I used to teach at). But now twice she has shared "screenshots" of what looks like MY account sending her a threatening message. The message itself is something I'd never say. It's the same kind of threats she sends me saying to be raped, using profanity and mental illness as an insult, etc. and threatening to have friends at the FBI. But it really does look like I sent it having my profile image, my username, the followers number, etc. Obviously, I never sent her this. My account hasn't been broken into. I checked and I have no alerts of my account being accessed and I have 2-step verification activated. I worry about this because when I do take this creep to court I want to show the judge how she faked these DMs. I downloaded my Twitter data from the smaller account she first pretended messaged her (and even changed the password on it), but now she did it with my main account.... What programs could make such a realistic Twitter DM with a person's bio? Could she be just sending herself messages with one of her accounts and then editing it with my info on Photoshop? Can I subpoena Twitter for her DM info to show I never sent her those messages? I do plan on speaking to an attorney next month (I wanted it 4 years ago but it's taken me almost being killed recently for my sister to FINALLY agree to help pay for an attorney...) and will see what he says, but any advice you guys have would be awesome! I'm sure someone else has been a victim of this or knows how such realistic, fake DMs can be made. I just don't understand why she is so obsessed over me... Fortunately, he was generally inept. But I learned that it's very hard to go after such people through the legal system. The incompetent lawyer I got just added financial costs to aggravation. I wish I could offer positive help, but all I can say is that the lawyer is likely to warn you that any action will be expensive and may not lead to a satisfying conclusion. And I know the state she lives in and it has laws against online harassment, doxxing, etc. She has also harassed a place I used to work at, hacked accounts of her other victim, and sent me credible threats of harm. My stalker is pretty stupid, too. She just knows how to hide her identity. And she still lives with her mother despite being a grown woman in her 30s... So anything the judge doesn't help with hopefully the mother does help. Also, my sister and the father of the other victim are both lawyers so we can go after her criminally and civilly. I'm not letting this person kill me. I'm taking her to court. I have documented EVERYTHING over the years, I have all her accounts, etc. All we need is these websites to be subpoenaed and the court to do their job. I bet she'll be so scared after being caught she'll try to remove everything and hide. She's a major coward. And again, maybe her mother will help us after seeing how her daughter spends her time making pornographic images of her victims... I generally hesitate to answer these types of questions because--please forgive me for saying it--often questions like these are people fishing for how to fake the DM or whatever else. This person is just insane and won't leave me alone. :/ I never heard of this method. I knew there are several programs people can use to make DMs on Facebook and Twitter, and of course people who use Photoshop to edit messages to make it seem like someone said something someone else said. This is good to know for when I talk to the attorney next month. I can show him this if he isn't aware. His bio says he does cyber crime so he might already know about it, but just in case... This might be how she's faking the DMs for me. I wonder if that's the same method she's using for the Facebook ones...? I just wish I knew what her end game was.... Is she trying to just get me off the internet or is she trying to get me legit dead? She's telling enough crazies my address....
