beautiful spot on the seaside to build a house and small boat jetty. Twenty five
years ago Samih Sawiris, chairman of Orascom Development, El Gouna’s parent
company, found that beautiful spot, conveniently located just north of Hurghada
on the west coast of the Red Sea. It wasn’t long before Sawiris’ friends, struck
by the splendor of the azure waters and dramatic backdrop of mountains, asked to
join him, and the town slowly blossomed into the vibrant community that it is
today

Diving & Hyperbaric The diving and hyperbaric medical center provides essential
services to the area’s large diving community.
The center stands ready to receive decompression emergencies with the largest
hyperbaric chamber in  the middle east; capable of effectively treating up
to nine patients at a time with different treatment schedules.
Staffed by resident diving medicine specialists, the center provides pre-diving
fitness checks.The hyperbaric chamber is also used to treat all medical
conditions that necessities hyperbaric oxygenation has been proven to promote
healing.


Intensive Care Unit The ICU is a multidisciplinary facility with advanced
cardiac and respiratory life support for critical medical, cardiac and surgical
cases.
The ICU is equipped with the latest technology including: infusion and syringe
pumps, beside monitors, DC shock, portable X-ray machine, ventilators, monitors
and a blood gas machine. The ICU provides a completely sterile environment
filled with natural light to harness the healing properties of the red sea’s
beautiful environment.

Pediatric Incubator Is fully equipped and staffed to handle severely premature
babies of as low as 24 weeks gestation to term babies who may have severe
systematic disorders or are in need of emergency surgical intervention due to
Congenital Anomalies.
The Department of Neonatology provides the full range of monitoring,
investigation and medical and surgical treatment of the newborn.

Haemodialysis Unit Haemodialysis unit equipped with 4 B-Braun machines with the
most recent software, which are set up in a luxury room with remote controlled
beds, internet and telephone connections with audio and satellite facilities.
Our doctors are available 24 hours/ 7 days a week under the Supervision of:
Prof. Dr. Rashad Barsoun M.D., FRCP, FRCPE, Prof. Medicine, Cairo
University,Chairman of Cairo Kidney Center And highly qualified team of
Nephrology consultants.

Accident and Emergency Elgouna hospital’s accident and emergency department is
equipped to treat medical and surgical emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a
week Specially trained personal and physicians in key specialties are
permanently on staff. Patients are transported to the department in fully
equipped eight ambulances (mobile ICU ambulances).

Inpatient The modern 30-bed in-patient department has shared room designed to
provide the highest levels of comfort and safety.
All rooms are air-condition and equipped with patient communication systems and
televisions broadcasting channels in English, Arabic, Italian, French, and
Russian. Nutritional needs are met by the hospital’s own cafeteria offering
