Frances Cleveland (1864–1947) was the first lady of the United States from 1886
to 1889 and again from 1893 to 1897, as the wife of President Grover Cleveland.
She met him while an infant, as he was a friend, and later the executor, of her
father, Oscar Folsom. Grover settled Oscar's debts and provided for Frances. She
graduated from Wells College, then married Grover while he was president. When
he lost reelection in 1888, they went into private life for four years,
returning when he was elected again in 1892. Much of her time during Grover's
second term was dedicated to their children. They had five; four survived to
adulthood. Frances Cleveland served on the Wells College board, supported
women's education, and organized kindergartens. Grover died in 1908, and she
married Thomas J. Preston Jr. in 1913. During World War I, she advocated
military preparedness. She died in 1947 and was buried alongside Grover
Cleveland in Princeton Cemetery. (Full article...)

White's discovery of the abandoned Roanoke Colony
 * 1590 – John White, governor of the Roanoke Colony, the first English
   settlement in North America (located in present-day North Carolina), returned
   after a three-year absence to find it deserted (depicted).

Map of counties in Tennessee

There are 95 counties in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of 2022, Shelby County
was both Tennessee's most populous county, with 916,371 residents, and the
largest county in area, covering an area of 755 sq mi (1,955 km2). The least
populous county was Pickett County (5,107) and the smallest in area was
Trousdale County, covering 114 sq mi (295 km2). As of the same year, Davidson
County, in which the capital Nashville is located, covers 502 sq mi (1,300 km2)
with a population of 708,144. The population of the state of Tennessee as of the
2022 census estimate was 7,051,339 in an area of 42,169 sq mi (109,217 km2). The
oldest county is Washington County, founded in 1777. The most recent county to

The hazelnut is the fruit of the hazel tree, including all nuts of the genus
Corylus, especially those of the species Corylus avellana. Hazelnuts are used as
a snack food, in baking and desserts, breakfast cereals such as muesli,
confectionery, and also in combination with chocolate for chocolate truffles and
products such as chocolate bars, Nutella and Frangelico liqueur. Hazelnut oil,
pressed from hazelnuts, is strongly flavored and high in monounsaturated fat; it
is used as a cooking oil and as a salad or vegetable dressing. Turkey is the
world's largest producer of hazelnuts, accounting for 64% of total production in
2021. This photograph shows two whole hazelnuts alongside two kernels, one of
which is peeled.
