> making the request. Most help requests should be made directly to the Forum
> Administrator.

> Notices and announcements from the SENIORSonly CLUB administrators will be
> posted in this section of the forum.

> General help requests of a nature that may prove helpful to others, who may
> have the same question, may be posted here. In most cases, however, we prefer
> that you send help requests to the Forum Administrator. Conversely, the Forum
> Administrator may solicit suggestions or feedback from forum members here.

> Within this category, a variety of topics are appropriate, including education
> and learning, the evolution of language, gadgets and tech talk, movies and
> entertainment, reading and writing, and others that may be related to
> education and entertainment

> Discussions that relate to education and learning are appropriate topics for
> this category. This might include current or past educational endeavors,
> online educational opportunities, topics such as the differences between
> education today and at various times in the past, or others.

> Discussions of the origins of language, or the ways in which the definitions
> of words have changed throughout history, are appropriate topics for this
> forum.

> Discussions relating to electronic or mechanical gadgets, equipment, computers
> or computer software, phones or smart phone applications, electronic reading
> devices, or anything relating to gadgets and technology are appropriate for
> this section of the forum.

> Topics that are appropriate for this category are intuitive, with history
> being a study of the past, especially as it pertains to human beings, while
> geography refers to the study of the lands, features, inhabitants, and
> phenomena of the earth. Nations and national boundaries, both current and
> historical, would be appropriate for this category as well.

> Discussions of movies, plays, concerts or other forums of performance art are
> the topics of this area of the forum.

> Philosophy and psychology are separate subjects, of course, but either or both
> of them may be discussed here. This is not the place for jokes and memes
> making fun of philosophers or psychiatrists, however, which is not to imply
> that every post has to be of a serious nature.

> Novels or short stories in any genre, poetry, or other works of literature,
> whether high-brow or low, are appropriate topics for this category. If we have
> any authors or poets among us, discussions relating to the art of writing may
> also be discussed here.

> A fairly wide range of topics might be appropriate for this forum area. These
> might include the discussion of scientific and technological research
> involving any of the sciences, including natural sciences, social sciences,
> applied sciences, and others, except where a more specific topic exists
> elsewhere in the forum. For example, weather events that are still occurring,
> or which have just occurred, should be brought up in the existing “In the
> News” section of the forum, and suggestions as to where to go for leaf peeping
> in the fall should be made in the “Travel & Vacation” area rather than here,
> while a discussion of why leaves change color in the fall would be a good fit
> for this part of the forum. Both the theories of evolution and intelligent
> design may be discussed here but if you are going to get into the specifics of
> just which god created the earth, then the “Faith & Religion” section would be
> a better choice.

> Discussion of any type of sport can be made here, including recreational
> activities such as jogging, mountain climbing, diving, and others.

> Added to the Forum in January of 2023, this forum is a place where SENIORSonly
> Club members can ask and provide help on a wide variety of topics. For reasons
> that should be obvious, let's not ask for or provide medical advice, and we
> already have a place for forum assistance (Help Requests).

> Among the topics that may be discussed in this section of the forum are
> gardening, cooking, hobbies or crafts, home improvement or repair, photography
> or video production, self employment, or regular forms of employment by
> seniors.

> Discussions of gardening or farming issues may be discussed here. This may
> include flower gardens, food crops, permaculture management, wildlife
> gardening, or anything having to do with growing things.

> Cooking, recipes, or the production of beer, wine, soft drinks, coffees, teas,
> or other drinks are appropriate topics for this category. Other subjects might
> involve food preparation, canning, etc.

> The home improvement section of the forum may include a variety of topics,

> these are tasks that have done yourself, need to do, or have hired someone to
> do for you. Questions about home improvement needs are also appropriate here.

> Photography or video production are topics under discussion in this section of
> the forum. Questions about these topics are also appropriate. You are, of
> course, free to post photographs and video anywhere in the forum, as this
> forum topic is about photography and video production.

> Even as seniors, many of us are unable or unwilling to simply retire. Rather
> than competing in the job market, we may opt to make use of our skills and
> experiences to go to work for ourselves, either out of the home or elsewhere.
> Any discussion of self employment as a senior is appropriate for this part of
> the forum, whether the reference is to something that you are doing or that
> you would like to do.

> At the age of fifty or older, some of us have not yet retired and, out of need
> or desire, we have continued working. Others may have reentered the job
> market, or are perhaps seeking to do so. These topics may be discussed within
> this section of the forum. Discussion of jobs that we have held in the past
> should be made within the "Jobs I Have Had" forum, which can be found within
> the "I Remember When" category.

> Shopping is the focus of topics posted in this section of the forum, whether
> at a brick-and-mortar retail store, dealership, or online shopping.

> This section of the forum refers to topics that may be likely to bring about
> disagreement. While we do not wish to be disagreeable in the SENORSonly CLUB,
> you may find room for differences of opinion here, as long as it is expressed
> respectfully and with civility.

> Governments and media seem to want to tie the words "conspiracy" and "theory"
> together, indicating that conspiracies cannot be real. Any discussion of
> conspiracies, whether real, imagined, or still up in the air, may be discussed
> in this section of the forum. The span of topics that can be included here is
> wide, including, but not limited to UFOs, global warming and climate change,
> cryptozoology, crop circles, time travel, and the Lost City of Atlantis.

> In this part of the forum, you can discuss your dreams or possible
> interpretations of dreams, whether your own or others. Even when there are no
> reasonable interpretations, it can be interesting to write your dreams down
> while you still remember them.

> Topics relating to energy and fuel may be discussed here. This does not refer
> to the human energy that we may lose as we grow older, but to the technologies
> or fuel required to produce electricity or power, including nuclear,
> hydroelectric, solar, wind, coal, oil or natural gas. Also appropriate as a
> topic in this sub-forum are fuels used to heat our homes or power our cars,
> trucks, and agricultural equipment. Discussions of storms, solar flares, and
> the like can be made here, as well.

> While the administration of the SENIORSonly CLUB will not tolerate arguments
> over matters of faith and religion, civil discussions are encouraged in this
> area of the forum. Forum members may also conduct Bible studies, or the
> equivalent in any other religion.

> Topics that are in the news may be discussed in this section of the forum,
> whether local to any member of the forum, national, or worldwide, and opinions
> may be aired. Consider whether the resulting discussion is likely to be about
> the news, or political in nature when considering whether to post a story here
> or in the Politics & Government thread. Please note that the weather is now
> being discussed in its own thread, a sub-forum of Science & Nature.

> Discussion or debate of topics relating to politics and government may be made
> in this section of the forum, as long as the conversation is civil and
> respectful of differing opinions. Debate and argument are not synonymous terms
> for the purpose of this forum.

> The forums within this category are the place to reminisce and to wax
> nostalgic. Topics include jobs that you have held, people you've known, places
> where you have lived, and other reminiscences.

> Many of us tend to identify ourselves according to what we do for a living, or
> by whatever we have spent most of our life doing. This is the part of the
> forum to discuss jobs that you have held within your lifetime and career,
> whether you just want to give your employment history or discuss one
> particular job in more detail.

> Throughout our lives, we meet a lot of people. Some remain friends throughout
> our lives, while others are left behind, intentionally or unintentionally,
> when we graduate from school, change jobs, or move. In this section of the
> forum, you may discuss those people who have made an impact on your life, for
> good or bad. It isn't necessary to give their names, but in some cases you may
> want to do so.

> There may be those in this forum who have lived in the same area, or even the
> same home, all of their lives. Others of us may have moved several times. In
> this part of the forum, you may discuss places that you have lived.

> There may be other things in your life that you look back upon with fondness
> or regret. In this section of the forum, you may discuss anything else that
> you would like to reminisce about.

> Let's not get too serious in this part of the forum. One forum in this
> category will include forum games or riddles, while another is set aside as a
> place to make people laugh, and if you sometimes get tired of being honest,
> there is a forum here for tall tales and fabrications. Other suggestions for
> this category are appreciated.

> Various forum games and riddles may be suggested by forum administrators or
> members of the forum in this area. Consider forum games that you have seen
> elsewhere, or be creative.

> What good news have you heard or experienced today? Is there someone who you
> would like to thank, or commend, for making your day a better one? Is there
> something that you would like to do, or say, that can make someone else's day
> a better one? That's what this sub-forum is about.

> Jokes and funny stories are welcomed in this forum, whether they are true of
> fabricated. Basically, anything, within the realms of decency, that have the
> potential to make someone laugh, may be posted in this forum.

> Let your creativity come out in this part of the forum, and don't let the
> truth get in the way. There is a place for honesty, but this isn't necessarily
> it. Another idea for this forum area are tales that may or may not be true,
> letting other forum members guess whether you're being honest or not.

> This category houses a variety of topics relating to ourselves and others,
> including family and relationships, health and wellness issues, holidays and
> family traditions, money and finances, pets, farm animals, and wildlife,
> retirement, leisure, travel and vacations, as well as a personal diary
> section.

> Discussions of your family or others who are important to your life can be
> made in this part of the forum. It isn't necessary to give names, and if you
> want to alter some of the facts for the sake of privacy, that's fine too, but
> sometimes it's nice to be able to talk about those who mean the most to us.
> Alternatively, you may wish to simply discuss the importance of family and
> relationships in general.

> There is no need to discuss any matter of health that you would prefer to keep
> to yourself, but sometimes it's nice to be able to discuss the things that can
> go wrong with us as we get older, or to talk about things that might be able
> to be done about it. With an understanding that this is not the place for
> medical advice, a discussion of home remedies or other types of treatment or
> therapy may be appropriate too.

> Upcoming holidays may be discussed in this section of the forum, including
> various family traditions surrounding some of our holidays. Even within
> members of the same religion, holy days are often celebrated differently in
> different families or geographical areas. Basically, anything relating to
> holidays and traditions are on-topic here.

> Discussion of matters regarding money and finances are appropriate in this
> forum area, whether relating to general problems associated with getting by
> financially, or possible sources of help. This is not the place for
> solicitations or scams, however.

> There may be times when you simply want to share something that is going on in
> your life, and it's not always easy to figure out which part of the forum it
> might fit into. In this part of the forum, members are encouraged to create a
> thread where anything that is going on in your life is on-topic. We strongly
> encourage you to use your member name in the subject line and, for those who
> are prolific in their diary section, we can create sub-forums for specific
> topics. In other words, one thread per member; if you need more, contact the
> Forum Administrator so that he can create a sub-forum.

> This is the part of the forum where members are encouraged to discuss or post
> photos of their pets, farm animals, wildlife, or any other topics relating to
> pets or animals.

> In this part of the forum, you may discuss your retirement, your plans for
> retirement, or other leisure activities that you consider to be part of your
> retirement. If, like some of us, you have never planned for retirement, you
> may also discuss your regrets here.

> Discussions, plans, photographs, or video of vacations you have taken, or
> places you have traveled to, these are the topics that are appropriate for
> this part of the forum. Upcoming vacations may also be discussed here.

> Anything that you would like to discuss that isn't covered in another section
> of this forum may be posted here. In the event that several people have
> discussed the same topic in this area, the Forum Administrator may opt to
> create a forum for that topic, moving the threads there. When you would like
> to post a thread about something that probably fits somewhere else, but you
> can't figure out where, you can post that here as well, and the Forum
> Administrator will move it to an appropriate area.

> If you would like to discuss something that isn't covered in another section
> of the forum, you may post it here. In the event that several members post
> similar topics here, the Forum Administrator may opt to create a forum for it,
> moving the related threads there.

> In the event that you want to discuss something that you think probably fits
> somewhere else, but are unable to figure out where it goes, don't fret about
> it. Post it here and the Forum Administrator will move it to an appropriate
> forum.
