NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital celebrated today the opening of its
Maternal & Newborn Care Unit, designed to enhance the care and comfort of
expectant moms and their newborns and provide the best patient experience
before, during and after childbirth.

The soothing, modern design of the new state-of-the-art Maternity Center
reimagines the experience for families with luxuriously appointed and spacious
private rooms and many amenities. The Center offers a full spectrum of services
that moms and their babies may need before, during, and after childbirth.

<h3>Screening Saves Lives</h3>
<p>“Colonoscopy is the one tool that is proven to prevent colon cancer in
patients,” said Pawan Rastogi, M.D., gastroenterologist at NewYork-Presbyterian
Medical Group Hudson Valley and assistant professor of medicine
at <strong>Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and
Surgeons</strong>. “That’s not always the case for other types of cancers. But
with a colonoscopy, you’re able to detect and test polyps and have them removed
before they become cancer.”</p>

at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, effective September 9, 2019. Ms.
Byers joins NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital from
NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital where she served as a director of
nursing.
