2 - World Autism Awareness Day: A day that seeks to improve the lives of those
who suffer from autism and to spread awareness for the rights of people with
autism.
5 - Laylatul Qadr: The holiest night of the year for Muslims commemorates the
night that the Quran was first revealed to the prophet Muhammad.
6 - Tartan Day: The day acknowledges the role that Scottish Americans have made
to the nation.
12 - The Day of Silence: Annual day of action to spread awareness about the
effects of the bullying and harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender,
and queer (LGBTQ+) students by taking a daylong vow of silence to symbolically
represent the silencing of LGBTQ+ students.
17 - Ram Navami: One of the five major holidays in Hindu society, this is a
celebration every year on the ninth day of Chaitra month (the first month in the
Hindu lunar calendar) to honor the birth of Lord Rama.

17 - St. Patrick's Day: Recognizes St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who
brought Christianity to the country in the early days of the faith.
21 - International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination: Created by
the United Nations after an incident in which police killed 69 people in South
Africa in 1960
21 - World Down Syndrome Day: A world day of awareness marked on the 21st of the
month to signify the Chromosome 21-strand
23 - Purim: A Jewish celebration that commemorates the salvation of the Jewish
people living in ancient Persia from genocide.
25 - Holi: Hindu holiday celebrating the winter harvest and the onset of spring

SDUHSD 2024-25 HIGH SCHOOL SELECTION INFORMATION

ENCINITAS – The San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) High School
Selection process ended on February 15, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. The District has
reviewed the submissions and, at this time, SDUHSD will not be conducting a
public lottery for the 2024-2025 school year. All eligible students who
participated in the SDUHSD High School Selection process by the deadline will be
offered enrollment in their selected high school for 2024-25. LCC, SDA, CCA and
TPHS will send out welcoming communication with enrollment information directly
to families of all eligible students who participated in the selection process
no later than Monday, February 26, 2024.  The Incoming Student Enrollment
Deadline is Monday, March 18, 2024 at 4:00 pm and students who selected an
academy must enroll by this deadline or will forfeit their spot at the academy
and be enrolled in their boundary school.
 
Academy enrollment is closed after the high school selection process. Students
who did not participate during the high school selection window, or who are new
to the District, will be enrolled at their residential boundary high school for
2024-2025. Please visit the Enrollment page for more information.

The San Dieguito Union High School District serves 7th through 12th grade
students in the communities of Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Cardiff, Rancho
Santa Fe and surrounding areas. Covering 85 square miles, the district includes
four high schools, five middle schools, and a continuation high school.
