QuTS hero h5.0

QuTS hero h5.0.1.2192 Build 20221020

[Important Notes]
- Storage pools created in QuTS hero h5.0.1 (or later versions) cannot be
imported to QuTS hero h5.0.0 (or earlier versions).
- Out-of-the-box QuTS hero h5.0.1 automatically installs security updates by
default. Nevertheless, if you update the firmware from QuTS hero h5.0.0 to
h5.0.1, QuTS hero will keep your existing firmware update settings. We recommend
checking your firmware update settings in Control Panel > Firmware Update.
- Removed support for the following developer tools: Python 2, Node.js v4,
Node.js v6, Node.js v8, and Ruby on Rails.
- Removed support for the following apps or tools: Mono, Perl, and AlarmClock.
We recommend running these apps or tools using Container Station if needed.

[New Features]
Control Panel
- You can now choose to disable USB ports to block the use of all USB devices or
only USB storage devices.
- Administrators can now enforce 2-step verification on specific users or groups
and then check their current verification status. After this enforcement,
selected users must complete 2-step verification setup before proceeding to
other operations.

Desktop & Login
- You can now configure the desktop icon size and font size in Desktop > Task
Bar > Options > Wallpaper.

File Station
- You can now share a shared folder via a share link in File Station.
- File Station now supports remembering share link settings.
- File Station can now calculate file and folder sizes in the background to
enhance computing performance.

SAMBA
- QuTS hero now supports Microsoft Windows Search Protocol. This allows you to
perform quick searches for files and folders in NAS shared folders mounted on
Windows 10 via SMB.

Storage & Snapshots
- Added support for LUN Encryption to enhance data security.
- Storage & Snapshots now supports enabling or disabling Native Command Queuing
(NCQ).
- Storage & Snapshots now displays topology diagrams for SAS JBOD expansion
enclosures to help visualize the arrangement of your storage devices.
- Added support for the Seagate Exos E 2U12 JBOD. This feature is still in beta
testing. A license will be required for official support.
- Note: Storage & Snapshots does not support expanding a NAS storage pool with
drives installed on a Seagate Exos expansion enclosure.
- Storage & Snapshots now supports Seagate IronWolf Health Management 2.2.1,
which allows you to manage and monitor more IronWolf drive models.
- To ensure the availability of your data, Storage & Snapshots now supports
"Replace & Detach", which allows you to copy data from a faulty disk to a spare
disk and then safely detach the faulty disk.

[Enhancements]
Control Panel
- When creating users, you can now choose to force users to change their
password upon their first login.
- You can now specify a custom UID for a non-administrator when creating a user
or editing user settings.
- QTS now supports access protection settings for RTRR and Rsync protocols in
Control Panel > System > Security.
- Enhanced firmware update features in Control Panel to provide more options and
clearer notifications. You can now configure more settings for update actions,
update schedule, and firmware update types.
- The default UPS policy is now set to "auto-protection mode" after NAS
initialization.
- QTS now displays a warning message in Control Panel > System > Hardware >
Hardware Resources when you select a graphics card installed on a PCIe slot that
does not support PCIe passthrough.
- When importing users, you can now choose to require imported users to change
their password upon their first login.
- QuTS hero now provides an option in Control Panel to disable the power button.
This prevents unexpected shutdown when users press the power button by accident.
- You can now create a one-time power schedule.
- To prevent malicious usernames and to ensure device security, QuTS hero no
longer allows usernames that contain the following characters: { } $ and the
space character.

File Station
- Updated CloudConvert API to v2. File Station now supports displaying
CloudConvert API key status.
- Added support for International Components for Unicode (ICU) library to
enhance sorting consistency in various languages.
- Modified UI design and workflow in File Station to enhance user experience.
- File Station now displays storage information on the volume context menu
(instead of the file context menu) for better usability.
- You can now select and download multiple files via a share link. You can now
also preview shared files with thumbnails.

Help Center
- Enhanced the user interface design of Help Center.

Network & Virtual Switch
- Network & Virtual Switch now displays the maximum transmission unit (MTU) of
network interfaces.
- The TS-x77XU and TS-x83XU models can now update firmware for their network
interface cards via Advanced Network Driver.

PHP System Module
- Updated the built-in PHP version to 7.4.20.

SAMBA
- You can now enable SMB signing on NAS devices that do not join a domain.

Storage & Snapshots
- Enhanced SAMBA file transfer speeds for small files.
- QuTS hero now supports up to 5PB capacity for a single storage pool.
- QuTS hero can now dynamically adjust rebuild speeds and priority according to
NAS I/O read status.
- Storage & Snapshots now supports zooming in on hardware model drawings to
display component details.
- You can now set a snapshot schedule during the creation of a shared folder.
- Instead of model photos, Storage & Snapshots now displays hardware model
images in 2D drawings.
- In addition to TCG-Opal, QuTS hero now also supports TCG-Enterprise SEDs.
Storage & Snapshots can now display SED types.
- SnapSync now supports 2-step verification.
- Snapshot Replica now supports 2-step verification.
- You can now specify a snapshot deletion policy in Storage & Snapshots > Global
Settings.
- Storage & Snapshots now also displays Snapshot Replica information in Overview
> Volume/LUN.
- Improved the user interface of WORM lock delay settings in Storage & Snapshots
to enhance user experience.

iSCSI & Fibre Channel
- You can now modify LUN settings even when LUNs are mapped to iSCSI targets.

[Known Issues]
- QTS and QuTS hero with newer kernel versions do not support ATTO Fibre Channel
adapters. If you have already installed an ATTO Fibre Channel adapter on your
device, we do not recommend updating the firmware to QTS 5.0.0 or QuTS hero
h5.0.0 (or later versions) for the time being.
- Users sometimes cannot switch between different FEC (Forward Error Correction)
modes for the QXG-25G2SF-CX6LX network expansion card.
- SnapSync jobs for LUNs may fail after users edit LUN names.
- After users edit LUN settings and run a Snapshot Replica job, the destination
NAS cannot correctly display LUN information in Snapshot Vault.
- Storage & Snapshots and iSCSI & Fibre Channel sometimes display different
sizes of the same LUN after users revert a LUN by importing a snapshot.

[Other Changes]
- App Center
- For security concerns, QuTS hero no longer supports adding app shortcuts on
the login screen.

Control Panel
- To ensure device security, the "admin" account cannot use the default password
(the MAC address of the first network adapter). The system now asks the user to
change the password when logging in with this default password.
- Removed certain device information from the login screen to enhance device
security.

Desktop & Login
- Instead of using the generic alias "appuser", QuLog Center and Desktop
Dashboard now display actual usernames when users access system resources and
services via a client app.

License
- You no longer need a license to operate QuTScloud installed in Virtualization
Station. Note that License Center 1.7.5 (or later) is required for this change.

SAMBA
- To prevent malware and ransomware from exploiting SMB v1 vulnerabilities, QuTS
hero now automatically sets the lowest SMB version to SMB v2 if your lowest SMB
version is SMB v1 before this firmware update.

Storage & Snapshots
- You can now check Snapshot Agent list on the action menu in Storage &
Snapshots > Storage/Snapshots > Snapshot.
- For a more intuitive workflow, Storage & Snapshots now shows various options
(such as "Remove" and "Expand") on the "Action" menu in Pool/Volume Management.
- Storage & Snapshots now provides clearer information for the results of
IronWolf Health Management (IHM) tests. This allows you to easily check the
health of your IronWolf drives.
- VJBOD currently does not support encrypted LUNs.
