WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PRE-PAID RECHARGE EXPIRES?

When your recharge expires, if you don’t recharge your service you move into a
‘recharge only period’ until you recharge.

During your ‘recharge only period’, you’ll still be able to receive calls, but
won’t be able to access data, and you can only make calls to:

 * 125 8887 recharge hotline. It’s a free call from your Telstra Pre-Paid
   service
 * Emergency numbers like 000 and 112. Find out more on the Triple Zero
   (000) website
 * Freecall phone numbers, like Telstra Customer Service

You’ll have 6 months to recharge. If you don't recharge within that time, your
service will be deactivated, and you’ll lose your mobile number. 


HOW DO I KNOW MY RECHARGE WAS SUCCESSFUL?

Your recharge should show in your main balance within a few minutes. You can
check your balance via:

 * My Telstra app
 * My Telstra


IF I RECHARGE BEFORE EXPIRY, WHAT HAPPENS TO MY OLD RECHARGE?

You may experience one of the following issues when trying to redeem your
voucher.

MY 12-DIGIT VOUCHER PIN IS SHOWING AS ‘INVALID’

If you’re seeing this error, please check that:

 * You’ve entered the 12-digit PIN exactly as it’s printed on the voucher
 * Your recharge voucher has not expired
 * The voucher has not already been redeemed

 If you’ve confirmed all this and the voucher still isn’t working, you’ll need
to take your recharge voucher and receipt back to the place of purchase for a
refund.   

MY RECHARGE VOUCHER IS FOR THE WRONG AMOUNT

If the amount on your recharge voucher is wrong, you’ll need to take the voucher
and receipt back to the place of purchase for a refund. 

MY VOUCHER IS BARRED 

This may occur if you have tried to enter your voucher PIN multiple times
without success

download speed is the maximum potential download speed for data included in your
recharge. Typical speeds may often be slower and will vary due to factors

HOW TO ACCESS 5G

Our 5G network now reaches over 85% of Australians. To access 5G, you’ll need a
5G compatible device in a 5G coverage area. To see if 5G is in your area, use
our 5G coverage checker.


NETWORK SPEED

Speeds may vary due to factors such as location, distance from the base station,
local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration and
download/upload destination.


NO EXCESS DATA CHARGES

If you exceed your included data allowance, you won’t be charged extra but your
speed will be capped at 1.5Mbps, and slowed further in busy periods. This isn’t
suitable for HD video or high-speed applications and means that some webpages,
videos, social media content and files may take longer to load. However, you can
still stream video in standard definition, listen to music, browse the web and
access social media, even if the experience is slower sometimes. Heavy data
users (users in the top 1% of all data users) may experience slower speeds than
other users during busy periods.

This plan includes access to Telstra’s 4G, 4GX and 3G networks. Please note, it
does NOT include access to our 5G network. 5G network access is included in the
$60 SIM recharge. To access the 5G network, you’ll need a 5G compatible device

HOW TO ADD A NEW ESIM TO YOUR PRE-PAID SERVICE.

You must be an existing Telstra Customer. You will need your Telstra ID.

1. On your device, open the My Telstra app and log in with your Telstra ID.

2. Go to the ‘Services’ screen and select ‘Add a new Pre-paid service’.

3. Click on ‘Use eSIM on this device’.

4. Select ‘Mobile Phone’ or ‘Tablet/mobile broadband’ .

5. Select a Pre-Paid plan.

6. Complete payment.

7. Review and submit order.

8. Click ‘Continue’ to start eSIM profile download.

9. You'll be taken to your device’s ‘Settings’ screen to complete the eSIM
profile installation.

10. After eSIM profile is installed, you'll be sent back to the My Telstra app
where you’ll see a ‘Success’ screen.

11. Click ‘Done’ to return to the ‘Services’ screen.

12. Refresh the ‘Services’ screen to see the new eSIM service. It can take up to
4 hours to display your new service.

HOW TO RECHARGE IN THE MY TELSTRA APP

You don’t need recharge credit to view your Pre-Paid details or use the app on
your device in Australia. However, data charges may apply for downloading the
app.



Recharge your pre-paid service with our My Telstra app:

 1. Login to the My Telstra app using your Telstra ID
 2. Open the Service tab and choose your pre-paid service 
 3. Select Recharge now and follow the prompts.

Sign in to My Telstra using your Telstra ID to view, manage and recharge your
pre-paid service on your desktop.

Sign in or Register

 1. Sign in to My Telstra using your Telstra ID
 2. Your My Telstra dashboard is displayed
 3. If you have multiple pre-paid services, choose the one you want to recharge
    from the dropdown on the top left of the page
 4. Click on Recharge
 5. Select your preferred recharge amount
 6. Select your preferred payment method
 7. Follow the prompts to complete your Pre-Paid recharge
