SECURE DOCUMENT DELIVERY SYSTEM

The VA Secure Document Delivery System (SDDS) is a secure document sharing
service for enterprise use. Documents shared through this system are encrypted
and are passed through multiple AntiVirus scans.


HOW ARE DOCUMENTS PROTECTED IN THE SECURE DOCUMENT DELIVERY SYSTEM?

When you upload a document to SDDS, it is automatically encrypted with
AES-512-CBC before being stored on cryptographically secure hardware. This
ensures the confidentiality and integrity of documents. When a document is
shared with you, it is archived into a zip file and secured with a password
available only over direct email.

Accessing an SDDS secured document:

 * Visit the link sent to you via email and your document should be downloaded
   automatically to your system's Downloads folder in a password protected zip
   archive.
 * Enter the password listed in your email when prompted to decrypt your secured
   document.
 * Extract or double-click your document and it will open automatically on your
   Desktop.




THE VA SECURE DOCUMENT DELIVERY SYSTEM IS RESERVED FOR SECURE DOCUMENT TRANSFERS

Files shared through SDDS are safe and secure. VA Personnel should use the SDDS
for file transfers when sharing files between stakeholders.

You may use this service to share and download documents if you:

 * Need to share a document safely and securely
 * Have a sensitive file which needs to be encrypted
