The Canada Games brings together more than 2,000 able-bodied athletes and
athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities for the largest amateur
multi-sport event in the country. Alternating between winter and summer, they
span over 30 different sports to showcase the very best in Canadian sport and
spirit.

The Games are held under the stewardship of the Canada Games Council who provide
continuity, leadership and support. We’re here to foster ongoing partnerships
and ensure the Games leave an enduring legacy on communities from coast to coast
to coast.

RACING TO ZERO TO MEASURE AND REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

In our continued effort to reduce the environmental impact of the Canada Games,
we are excited to announce our partnership with Racing to Zero (RTZ), an
Olympian-led organization specializing in carbon footprint assessments.
Together, we will analyze the Canada Games Council’s greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions for the 2023-24 fiscal year and find areas for reduction.

2027 CANADA WINTER GAMES IN QUÉBEC: SEEKING ALL-STAR STAFF

The 2027 Canada Games Host Society is pleased to launch its very first
recruitment campaign today. The Society is aiming to hire six passionate

confirm their intention to bid for the Games. The bidding cities will then
embark on a 13-month process to build their bids as they vie to host Canada’s
largest amateur multi-sport event for the nation’s top young athletes in 2029.
