TALENT LEARNING MANAGEMENT AND LINKEDIN LEARNING CONTENT

Published 09/13/2023 11:36 AM   |    Updated 10/06/2023 12:57 PM

The State of Montana Talent system is a statewide talent management application,
including, Performance Management, Goal Management, and Learning
Management. State HR has contracted with LinkedIn Learning to provide training
for State of Montana employees.  Below are details and FAQs on the integration
of LinkedIn Learning content into the State of Montana Talent system.

DETAILS

 * State HR, DOA maintains both Talent and the LinkedIn Learning content
   integration.
 * There are no additional fees for employees taking LinkedIn Learning training
through Talent, however, you should still follow your agency's request and
   approval process.
 * As long as employees launch the training from within Talent, their training
history will remain on their record, even if they transfer to a different
   department.
 * Employees will have access to the full LinkedIn Learning English catalog of
   over 9,000 courses.
 * Managers will have the ability to assign or recommend training to staff from
   within Talent.
 * The State of Montana Talent system and LinkedIn are both best viewed using
   the Edge browser.
 * Single Sign On is enabled for both Talent and LinkedIn, eliminating the need
   to remember a username/password.

TIMELINE

8/14 - 9/15:  Set-up and configuration of integration - complete
9/18 - 9/21:  Set-up of pilot group 1 - complete
9/21:  Pilot group 1 go-live - complete
9/28:  Pilot group 2 go-live - complete
10/1:  Begin phased roll-out to all State of Montana employees - in progress
10/16 - 10/31:  Emails will be distributed to agency HR offices with additional
features available for HR, Training Coordinators, and Managers.

FAQS

How do I access LinkedIn Learning content to take training?
- View the article How to take LinkedIn Learning courses in Talent.
How do I find the LinkedIn Learning training I'm looking for?
- To find training relevant to you, you may use the keyword search to look for
training, click here for instructions or check out our Recommendations page for
course recommendations with direct links to those courses.
Can I access LinkedIn Learning off the State network?
- Yes, you can access Talent and LinkedIn Learning off the State network, click
here for instructions on this.
Why does the training say "required" after I click on the course?
- After you start a course, you may see the word Required on the screen where
you launch the training. This is simply telling you that this activity is
required in order for the course to be listed as 'complete'. Some trainings have
multiple activities and not all are required for the course to show as complete.
It does not mean that the training is now required for you to take. If a
training is required for you to take it will be listed as such on the 'My
Learning' tab.
Why isn't training I took in LinkedIn reflecting on my Talent training summary?
- If you went directly to LinkedIn Learning to launch training, it may not be
reflected on your Talent training summary for a period of time because the
training was launched outside of the Talent/LinkedIn Learning integration. State
HR will load these completions on a regular basis, but it will not display in
real time. If you launched the training from within Talent and still do not see
the completion in your training summary, please reach out to talent@mt.gov for
assistance.
How do I print certificates of completion?
-Once you complete all of the course content, click into the content, below the
screen where the content plays you will see the Related to this Course section.
In that section, click Show all next to Certificates. This will pop-up a screen
where you can download a certificate.

How do I resume a training?
-Follow the guide for How to take LinkedIn Learning courses, instead of clicking
Launch, this time you'll click Resume. This will re-launch the training where
you last left off.
Can I connect my LinkedIn Learning account with my LinkedIn profile to preserve
my training history?
-Go to linkedin.com/learning. If you are connected to the state network you'll
be automatically logged in. Navigate to the Me dropdown > Settings > Select the
option to connect to your Linkedin.com account and enter your Linkedin.com
credentials.
Can I disconnect my LinkedIn Learning account from my LinkedIn profile?
