Recent Club Activity

Sunday 12 November saw a beautiful sunny day at the flying site with a
reasonable turnout of members and their models. The wind did come up a little
early on but this didn't stop most from having a fly. Unfortunatelly for Mat he
managed to find the only clump of grass on the strip when landing and managed to
cartwheel his Great Planes F-1 Rocket resulting in some minor damage to the
trailing edge of the left wing. Nothing that a little time at the bench won't
fix.

After a series of stupid mistakes one after the other a couple of weeks back
resulting in Chris piling his Hanger 9 Funtana into the runway leaving it a
little worse for wear, Chris returned to the strip this week with his recently
aquired World Models Jeff Troy’s TAMEcat Trainer for a test flight.
Unfortunately the engine did not want to play ball with a rough transition
between idle and full throttle resulting in some very rough running mid throttle
the test flight was not made.

It was also discovered that the steering turning circle was far less that
adequate and the model was put back in the car to return another day when the
issues have been resolved.
